This article examines female part-time employment in 23 European countries, distinguishing between "short" and "long" part-time employment. The short form, defined as less than 20 hours per week, is associated with the youngest and oldest age groups, slight disability, a higher number of children, lower skill levels, and employment in community, social and personal services. Although the incidence of part-time employment varies considerably across countries, long part-time employment is generally more widespread than short part-time employment, albeit with matching cross-country variations in the incidence of the two types. This suggests that they are complementary, rather than substitutes for one another.

El trabajo a tiempo parcial breve se asocia a franjas etarias extremas, discapacidad leve, un número mayor de hijos y menor nivel de instrucción, así como al sector de los servicios colectivos, sociales y personales. Se observa mucha variación entre países, pero en general el tiempo parcial largo es más frecuente que el corto y ambos tipos parecen complementarios.

This study aims to investigate the types of impoliteness strategies used in Putin's speech at the annexation ceremony. All of Putin's speeches were intentionally delivered to cause damage to the hearers' negative and positive faces. Culpeper's (2011) classifications of impoliteness, which consist of five strategies that are the opposite of politeness, were adopted. Both qualitative and quantitative analyses have been used to accomplish the study objectives. Putin mostly used the negative impoliteness strategy, directly attacking the West and their policies. Furthermore, he considered his authority to be higher than Kyiv and the West, and for this reason, he insulted, belittled, blamed, and accused them. In several texts, he used "bald on record" in a direct, concise, and clear tone when he talked to the President of Ukraine and his elites. The two remaining strategies, positive impoliteness and mock impoliteness, were rarely used. This work contributes to understanding the messages that Putin tried to convey and analyzes them politically.

Résumé Les auteurs analysent le travail à temps partiel féminin dans vingt‐trois pays d'Europe en distinguant temps partiel court et temps partiel long. Au niveau individuel, le temps partiel court est associé aux tranches d'âge extrêmes, à un handicap léger, à un nombre d'enfants plus important, à un moindre niveau de formation et aux services collectifs, sociaux et personnels. La comparaison entre pays montre une forte variation du niveau de l'emploi à temps partiel, le temps partiel long étant en général plus fréquent que le court. Enfin, les deux types de temps partiel apparaissent complémentaires, leurs variations d'un pays à l'autre allant dans le même sens.
