A Computer Generated Hologram (CGH) is used as an aberration corrector in construction optics to record Holographic Optics Elements (HOE's) with preaberrated wavefronts. In the system described, the CGH provides enough asphericity to record the required HOE, so that other lenses in the construction optics can be selected by paraxial considerations alone. The design process of the recording system is described and a comparison is made between the measured and expected performance of the final lens.
A new gimbal-based, FUR camera for several types of airborne platforms has been developed. The FUR is based on a PtSi on silicon technology: developed for high volume and minimum cost. The gimbal scans an area of 360° in azimuth and an elevation range of +15 to -105°. It is stabilized to 25 pRad-rms. A combination of uniformity correction, defect substitution, and compact optics results in a long range, low cost FUR for all low-speed airborne platforms. SUMMARY TAMAM/IAI has development a Focal Plane Array (FPA) FUR
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
