This study was conducted to examine the recovery high-grade tin concentrate from the tin ore at Wangpiri, Uljin by froth flotation. The optimum conditions were obtained by investigating various experiment conditions. It was found that Na2SiF6 acts as an depressant for the silicate gangue minerals, main component of crude ore and alkyl-hydroxamic acid was used as a collector because of its better selectivity and strong collecting force. High-grade tin concentrate with Sn grade of 75.55% and with recovery of 89.86% was obtained under the following conditions; depressant 1,000 g/t, pH 5 adjusted with sulfuric acid, collector 600 g/t, frother 20 g/t, 3-time repetition of cleaner flotation with the rougher concentrate. It has been found that an effective and simple tin flotation process was achieved by comparing with the previous results and separation efficiency using oleic acid.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
