CXL remains effective in stabilizing keratoconus for longer than 2 years in a majority of pediatric eyes. Flattening of Kmax was greater in moderately advanced keratoconus and central cones. Long-term follow-up beyond 4 years, however, revealed that a few eyes showed features suggestive of reversal of the effect of CXL.
This study provides estimates of utility values that can be used in economic evaluations of DR screening strategies in India. The relatively low utility values associated with blindness highlights the importance of screening programs for early detection of the sight-threatening stages to prevent vision loss from DR in this setting.
Post-LASIK ectasia is characterized by significant changes in refraction, topography, tomography, and aberrometry. The proposed scoring system may be useful in diagnosing, grading, and monitoring post-LASIK ectasia.
