is a lecturer in ICT Education in the School of Education and lecturers both pre-service and in-service teachers in the use of learning technologies in their teaching. Her research interests include the use of technologies to enhance learning, in particular mobile devices and interactive whiteboard use in both primary and secondary schools. Sue Monk researches in the areas of social justice in education, issues of access and equity for marginalized students. Sue teaches in the Arts curriculum area for pre-service teachers. Her background is in ethnomusicology and Latin American studies and her research interests include the Arts as an educational tool, the educational approaches of Paulo Freire.
The context for this study is set within the traditional country of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, and Jagera peoples. We acknowledge that they are the traditional custodians and appreciate their blessing to conduct our work and study upon their traditional lands.
