Phenomenological Richardson potential has built in asymptotic freedom (AF in short) and confinement, with only one parameter Λ in the potential. But it is known that the scales of AF and confinement are not the same. In the present work a relativistic mean field calculation for baryons is tried out with two parameters Λ and Λ ′ for AF and confinement respectively .To test the two parameter potential we calculate the energies and the magnetic moments, of the triple u -quark system (∆ ++ ) and the triple s -quark system (Ω − ) and found good values for Λ = 100 M eV and Λ ′ = 350 M eV . So we believe that the modified Richardson potential should have AF scale Λ = 100 M eV and the confinement scale Λ ′ = 350 M eV .
Nowadays biodegradable polymer draws much attention to the researcher compared to the petroleum-based nonbiodegradable polymer due to the environmental and energy crisis. Aluminum industry waste red mud (RM) reinforced with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) organic-inorganic composite film was synthesized by sol-gel method. The effects of sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) as a compatibilizer on the composite were investigated. The composites were characterized by UV absorption, Fourier transforms infrared spectrophotometer (FTIR), X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), EDX. Chemical, mechanical and thermal properties of the composites were investigated with different amount of red mud-PVA and also the comparison between them without and with SLS addition. Physical and chemical bonding in the PVA, PVA-RM, and PVA-RM-SLS were shown through FTIR spectra. SEM images exhibit excellent compatibility between PVA and RM in the composite. Degree of swelling and tensile strength were increased by 71.48% and 194.88% respectively, and again percentage of elongation at break and solubility were decreased by 98.07% and 78.07% respectively for the PVA-RM-SLS composite compared to virgin PVA. TGA thermogram reveals that PVA-RM-SLS system had more thermal stability than pure PVA. All the results showed excellent adhesion between PVA and red mud and established the effect of RM as filler and SLS as compatibilizer. This composite is suitable as packaging materials.

PACS. 12.39.-x -Phenomenological quark models.Abstract. -New developments have spurred interest in magnetic moments (µ-s) of baryons. The measurement of some of the decuplet µ-s and the findings of new sumrules from various methods are partly responsible for this renewed interest. Our model, inspired by large colour approximation, is a relativistic self consistent mean field description with a modified Richardson potential and is used to describe the µ-s and masses of all baryons with up (u), down (d) and strange (s) quarks. We have also checked the validity of the Franklin sumrule (referred to as CGSR in the literature) and sumrules of Luty, March-Russell and White. We found that our result for sumrules matches better with experiment than the non-relativistic quark model prediction. We have also seen that quark magnetic moments depend on the baryon in which they belong while the naive quark model expects them to be constant.c EDP Sciences
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
