Karakter sangat dibutuhkan untuk mencapai keberhasilan belajar siswa. Individu yang berkarakter baik adalah individu yang bias membuat keputusan dan siap untuk mempertanggungjawabkan setiap akibat dari keputusan yang telah dibuat. Siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama adalah siswa siswi yang berusia sekitar 12 sampai dengan usia 16 tahun, merupakan anak yang memasuki transisi perubahan masa anak anak menuju masa remaja awal yang mana biasanya mereka ingin menunjukan jati dirinya dengan berperilaku mengimitasi idola-idolanya. Cara pembentukan karakter yang baik bagi para siswa agar kelak bisa menjadi warga masyarakat yang berkepribaian baik, yang bersikap dan perilaku religious, toleran, jujur, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, tanggung jawab, mandiri, demokratis, menghargai karya orang lain dan cinta damai adalah melalui penerapan disiplin tata tertib sekolah.
AbstrakPeran pemuda sangat penting sebagai agen perubahan dalam pengembangan masyarakat. Karang Taruna yang tumbuh di desa/kelurahan, merupakan wahana bagi pemuda untuk memperlihatkan berbagai peran mereka. Karang Taruna hadir dalam upaya memenuhi harapan masyarakat untuk menanggulangi permasalahan sosial, khususnya permasalahan yang terjadi pada pemuda. Karena peran strategisnya itu, maka Kementerian Sosial RI menempatkan Karang Taruna sebagai salah satu pilar sosial dalam penyelenggaraan kesejahteraan sosial. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan peran Karang Taruna Sukajadi sebagai agen perubahan dalam pengembangan masyarakat. Data dan informasi dikumpulkan melalui studi dokmentasi dan wawancara dengan pengurus Karang Taruna, tokoh masyarakat, aparat desa, instansi pemerintah dan penerima layanan. Hasi penelitian, bahwa Karang Taruna Sukajadi telah melaksanakan berbagai peran sebagai agen perubahan dalam pengembangan masyarakat, dengan melaksanakan kegiatan di bidang sosial, seperti: bantuan pendidikan anak yatim, bantuan kebutuhan pokok bagi orang miskin, dan perbaikan rumah bagi keluarga miskin, pencegahan penyalahgunaan narkoba dan pembinaan preman jalanan, pelestarian budaya melalui peletarian kesenian lokal. Kemudian di bidang ekonomi, bekerja sama dengan sebuah cafe untuk pemasaran kopi bakar. Meskipun demikian, berbagai peran tersebut masih perlu dioptimalkan melalui peningkatan kapasitas anggota Karang Taruna.Kata kunci: karang taruna, agen perubahan, pengembangan masyarakat. AbstractThe role of youth is very important as an agent of change in community development. Karang Taruna that grows in the village / kelurahan, is a vehicle for young people to showcase their various roles. Karang Taruna on the basis of its social volunteerism helps the community to overcome social problems, especially problems for youth. Based on this strategic role, the Ministry of Social Affairs places it as a social pillar in the social welfare development. This research was conducted to describe the role of Karang Taruna Sukajadi as agents of change in community development. Data and information were collected through documentation studies and interviews with Karang Taruna officials, community leaders, village officials, government agencies and service recipients. The results of the research that Karang Taruna Sukajadi has carried out various roles as agents of change in community development, by carrying out activities in the social field, such as: education assistance for orphans, basic needs for the poor, and home improvement for poor families, prevention of drug abuse and fostering street thugs, preserving culture through the launch of local art. Then in the economic field, working with a cafe for roasted coffee marketing. Nevertheless, these various roles still need to be optimized through capacity building for members of the Karang Taruna.
Indigenous peoples were placed as second-class citizens, that have fallen behind in all aspects of life than any other citizen. In fact, indigenous people in any country has gained international legal protection through 'the United Nations Declaration the Right of Indigenous People' since 2007. In the entity, within the indigenous peoples, including women and children. The form of response to the declaration, each country develop policies in the form of regulation and followed by action programs targeting indigenous peoples. It has been over 10 years of the declaration proclaimed, but the indigenous peoples still face a lot of problems in the social, cultural, economic, political, legal, land and natural resources; not even the women and their children. This situation requires the presence of a social work profession, in which the role of professional help to acquire rights, improve the quality of life and well-being of indigenous peoples.
