Background: HIV / AIDS infected more than 90% of children in 2017, acquired from their mothers. In accordance, special protection from families is crucial. Antiretroviral is the best therapy in PLWHA children’s treatment, and family support is needed to succeed. Objective: To explore in detail family experiences in nurturing HIV / AIDS children with ARV therapy in Jayapura City. Methods: This research is qualitative research with a phenomenology approach. The selection of participants was obtained by purposive sampling, and 8 participants were selected to be interviewed using voice recorder and file notes. Data were analyzed using nine stages of Colaizzi. Results: There are five themes, namely: the initial obstacles faced by the family of ODHA children; Family efforts to care for children living with HIV / AIDS; Constraints in child care; Form of health care workers; Fulfilling physical, psychological, and laboratory needs. Conclusion: Participants lacking in knowledge regarding HIV / AIDS. Consequently, it became the major obstacle faced by families of ODHA children, this affecting delayed child's HIV status, but in terms of child care, there is a lot of support for children
Pelayanan kebidanan komplementer saat ini semakin diminati masyarakat, salah satunya adalah pelayanan Baby SPA, yang mana menjadi trend baru dalam merawat bayi untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan bayi. Pentingnya bagi alumni Prodi Diploma III Kebidanan Jayapura diberikan bekal tentang enterpreunership sehingga memiliki peluang membuka usaha praktek bidan maupun home care baby SPA and treatment, yang berfokus pada pelayanan kesehatan bayi dan anak. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk menumbuhkan motivasi enterpreunership dikalangan alumni Prodi Diploma III Kebidanan Jayapura, meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan alumni tentang baby SPA and treatment serta mendampingi alumni dalam membuka usaha home care baby SPA and treatment. Metode yang digunakan dengan melakukan pelatihan dan pendampingan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan mulai tanggal 13 Juli sampai dengan 15 Juli 2022. Dengan peserta sebanyak 13 orang. Pelaksanaan kegiatan diawali dengan pre-test, diskusi, demostrasi, praktek baby SPA and treatment dan diakhiri dengan post-test. Setelah dilakukan pelatihan, terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta yang cukup signifikan tentang home care baby SPA and Treatment, dan setelah pendampingan dalam waktu seminggu peserta telah membuat brosur pemasaran pelayanan dan pada minggu ke dua 11 peserta telah melakukan pelayanan home care baby SPA and treatment. Ada peningkatan kunjungan rumah serta omset pemasukan setiap bulannya.
Background: Vomiting and nausea in the first trimester of pregnancy is often experienced by pregnant women, if the symptoms occur continuously it will have an impact on pregnancy and the process of fetal growth and development. One of the safe and doable non-pharmacological therapies is the administration of lemon aromatherapy. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of lemon aromatherapy on reducing nausea and vomiting in pregnant women in the 1 trimester Methods: This type of research is pre-experimental with quasi-experimental design. The design is using two group pretest posttests as a treatment in the intervention group to be given lemon aromatherapy and a control group that was not intervened. The population was 28 pregnant women, with the sample being the total population divided into 2 groups using purposive sampling techniques. Data were obtained using the Pregnancy Unique Quantification of Emesis/Nausea (PUQE) Scale questionnaire to measure the frequency of nausea and vomiting before and after two weeks of aromatherapy. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results: The results showed that there was an effect of lemon aromatherapy on reducing nausea and vomiting in 1 trimester pregnant women where statistical tests showed a value Sig (2 tailed)=0,000 < α 0,05 then Ha is accepted. Conclusion: There is an effect of lemon aromatherapy on the decrease in nausea and vomiting in 1 trimester pregnant women
Hepatitis B is a problem that is often found in the care of pregnant women and newborns. Prevention of hepatitis B during pregnancy requires a comprehensive understanding of the disease, namely by providing health counseling through video media based on local wisdom. Aims to see how this counseling affects pregnant women's understanding of hepatitis B. Using quasi-experimental forms with two-group pretest-posttest design. There are 81 pregnant women registered at the Ilekma Health Center. Simple random sampling was used to select 44 respondents, which were divided into two groups, namely intervention group that received this health counseling, and the control group that did not receive the intervention. Research instruments in the form of questionnaires, the data are analyzed using independent sample t-tests. Results: Before the intervention, the average score of knowledge of pregnant women based on pre-test findings was 6.41 (intervention group) and 7.50 (control group). The average post-test results after health counseling were 10.77 in the intervention group and 7.45 in the control group. The results of the independent sample t-test showed a significance value of <0.05 which showed that health counseling through video media based on local wisdom had an impact on pregnant women's knowledge about hepatitis B disease.
