Background: Preconception care is the provision of biomedical, behavioral and social health interventions to women and couples before conception occurs. It aims at improving their health status, and reducing behavioral and environmental factors that contribute to poor maternal and child health outcomes. Therefore, the study was to assess the knowledge on preconception care among reproductive age women. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out amongst 150 reproductive age group women attending the OPD in Manmohan Memorial Teaching Hospital, Kathmandu. The sample was selected by non-probability/purposive sampling technique. Structured questionnaire was used to collect data using interview technique. Data was analyzed via SPSS software version 16. Mean, median and standard deviation was used for analysis of data. Results: The finding showed that 31.3% had adequate knowledge, while 68.7% of the respondents had moderate knowledge about preconception care. Only 40.7% of the respondents knew that folic acid should be started when female discovers that she is pregnant, 36.7% of the respondents knew that folic acid should be started 3 months before conception. While only 24% respondents knew that folic acid is effective in reducing the risk of birth defects. significant association between level of knowledge on preconception care and family income and whereas there was no significant association between the level of knowledge and the age, ethnic group, education level, religion, residence, occupation, type of family, marital status. Conclusions: This study concludes that there was moderate knowledge on preconception care among reproductive age women. Hence, there should be proper counseling and more educational intervention to upgrade the knowledge level of women of reproductive age.
Buddhists Tourism Promotional Strategy to Nepal is the study of Buddhist tourism and its promotional strategy of Nepal. Buddha was born in Nepal, so Nepal must be like Jerusalem and Mecca are for Christians and Muslims of Buddhist, but still, Nepal has difficulties inviting two million overall tourists. Why is it so? Nepal is the country of Buddha; every Buddhist must visit Lumbini Nepal at least once in a lifetime but still status of arrival of Buddhist tourists is considerably low. The main objective of the study is to find out the Buddhists Tourism Promotional Strategy for Nepal. It is a review paper on Buddhist tourism. For this federal, provincial, and local governments have to work effectively with the assurance of good governance on the specified programs.
Introduction: Pregnancy and childbirth is considered as a physiological process and it is associated with certain risks to the life of mother and newborn baby. Birth-preparedness and complication readiness is a comprehensive strategy to improve maternal and newborn health. This study was done to observe impact of educational status and Parity of mother-in-laws on awareness and practices regarding birth preparedness and complication readiness. Methods: The study was conducted in Banke district. The duration of study was from August 2011 to August 2012. Descriptive cross-sectional study was followed. One hundred mothers-in-law were selected through simple random procedure. Semi-structure interview schedule was used to collect information. Results: The mean age of mothers-in-law was 52.33 (SD=8.96) years. Majority (82.0%) mothers-in-law were illiterate with lack of awareness and practice about birth preparedness and complication readiness. Conclusion: Inadequate practices on birth preparedness and complication readiness were prevalent in illiterate mothers-in-laws.

Buddhism pursues happiness by using knowledge and practice to achieve mental equanimity. In Buddhism, equanimity, or peace of mind, is achieved by detaching oneself from the cycle of craving that produces suffering and travelling broadens horizons and provides patience. It relieves stress and unwinds the mind to develop tolerance and empathy. Travelling helps to discover self. It helps to be open-minded, offers break from routine life, and provides patience. It relieves stress and unwinds the mind. It discovers human strengths and weaknesses. This article examines the social connectivity between Buddhism and tourism in Nepal. Methodologically, it is desk based qualitative study. It is a general review of Buddhism and tourism. The study finds a Buddhist worldview, plays a significant role in shaping attitudes toward Buddhist tourism.
