An experiment was conducted for 30 days to evaluate the performance of finisher broiler chickens fed maggot meal as a supplement in the commercial diets on their performance of finisher broiler chickens. Maggot meal was analysed to contain 40.12% CP, 10.97% CF, 6.88% EE, 15.88% ash. The four treatments used in this experiment were: (1) T0: commercial ration without maggot meal; (2) T1: commercial ration with 75% maggot meal; (3) T2: commercial ration with 50% maggot meal; and (4) T3: commercial ration added with 25% maggot meal. Statistical analyses showed that the treatments did not affect (P<0.05) feed consumption. However, they did effect (P>0.05) daily weight gain and feed efficiency of the birds. Maggot supplementation could reduce 25% commercial ration fed to broiler chickens.
Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian kali ini ialah untuk meneliti pengaruh dari penggunaan tepung ubi ungu (Ipomoea batatas L.) dan daun kelor (Moringga oleifera) serta minyak kelapa sebagai pengganti jagung terhadap organoleptik ayam pedaging. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan 96 anak ayam umur sehari (DOC). Metode yang digunakan ialah metode eksperimen, dan rancangan yang digunakan ialah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan 6 ulangan. Adapun perlakuan yang diberikan ialah R0=Kombinasi antara 50% tepung jagung dan konsentrat sebanyak 50%. R1=Kombinasi antara 33,33% tepung jagung, 50% konsentrat dan 16,67% campuran tepung ubi ungu dan tepung daun kelor serta minyak kelapa. R2=Kombinasi antara 16,67% tepung jagung, 50% konsentrat dan 33,33% campuran tepung ubi ungu dan tepung daun kelor serta minyak kelapa. R3=Kombinasi antara 50% konsentrat dan 50% campuran tepung ubi ungu dan tepung daun kelor serta minyak kelapa. Penggunaan campuran tepung ubi ungu, tepung daun kelor serta minyak kelapa sebanyak 16,67%-50% bertujuan untuk mensubtitusi penggunaan tepung jagung dalam ransum sebanyak jumlah penggunaan dari campuran ketiga bahan pakan tersebut. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan Analisis Kruskal Wallis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan memberikan pengaruh yang sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap organoleptik ayam pedaging. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini ialah subsitusi jagung dalam ransum dengan mengunakan pakan campuran tepung ubi ungu dan daun kelor serta minyak kelapa mampu meningkatkan organoleptik ayam pedaging. Warna daging ayam agak merah, aroma daging berbau khas ubi ungu, cita rasa daging ayam sangat disukai dan tekstur daging lembut. Penggunaan campuran ketiga bahan pakan tersebut untuk mensubstitusi jagung sebanyak 100% menghasilkan kualitas organoleptik terbaik diantara perlakuan lainya.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving herbal solutions [betel and binahong] on the performance of male laying chickens. The materials used were 96 male chickens aged 2 weeks. Completely Randomized Design [CRD] with four treatments and six replications were used in this research. The treatments were: R0: drinking water without betel and binahong leaf solution, R1: Drinking water + 20 ml betel leaf solution/l , R2: drinking water + 20 ml binahong leaf solution/l, R3: drinking water + a combination of 10 ml of betel leaf and binahong solution/l. The variables measured were feed intake, water intake, weight gain and feed conversion ratio. The results of the study showed that the treatments had no significant effect [P>0.05] on all observed variables. Thus it can be concluded that the administration of of betel and binahong leafs solution with a level of 20 ml/l and their 10% combination in drinking water has not been able to improve the performance of male laying chickens.
The purpose of this study was to determine the substitution of fermented water spinach waste (Ipomoea aquatica) in commercial feed on the performance of super free range female chickens. This study used 80 super free range female chickens aged 5 weeks. The research method used was a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments, each treatment consisted of 5 replications, and each replication consisted of 4 chickens. The treatments consisted of R0: 100% commercial ration, R1: 90% commercial ration + 10% water spinach waste fermented by tape yeast, R2: 80% commercial ration + 20%water spinach waste fermented by tape yeast, R3: 70% commercial ration + 30%water spinach waste fermented by tape yeast. The results of statistical analysis showed that the substitution of water spinach waste fermented by tape yeast on the performance of super female free range chickens with different treatments gave a significant (P<0,05) effect on ration intake, drinking water intake. But did not give a significant effect (P˃0,05) on body weight gain. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the substitution of water spinach waste (Ipomoea aquatica) fermented by tape yeast to a level 30% in commercial feed increased ration intake and drinking water intake. However, at the substitution level of 20% the ration conversion rate increases. Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui substitusi limbah kangkung air (Ipomoea aquatica) terfermentasi pakan komersial terhadap performa ayam kampung super betina. Penelitian ini menggunakan ayam kampung super betina sebanyak 80 ekor berumur 5 minggu. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan, tiap perlakuan terdiri dari 5 ulangan, dan tiap ulangan terdiri dari 4 ekor ayam. Perlakuan yang diberikan terdiri dari R0: Ransum komersial 100%, R1: Ransum komersial 90% + 10% limbah kangkung airterfermentasi ragi tape, R2: Ransum komersial 80% + 20% limbah kangkung airterfermentasi ragi tape dan R3: Ransum komersial 70% + 30% limbah kangkung air terfermentasi ragi tape. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukan bahwa substitusi limbah kangkung air terfermentasi ragi tape terhadap performa ayam kampung super betina dengan perlakuan berbeda memberikan pengaruh nyata (P˂0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, konsumsi air minum dan konversi ransum. Tetapi tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata (P˃0,05) terhadap pertambahan bobot badan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa substitusi pemberian limbah kangkung air (Ipomoea aquatiaca) terfermentasi ragi tape sampai level 30% pada pakan komersial meningkatkan konsumsi ransum dan konsumsi air. Namun pada level substitusi 20% nilai konversi ransum meningkat.
