Daniel Stern har igennem hele sit forfatterskab været optaget af relationerne mellem subjekt og omverden, ikke mindst spørgsmålet om, hvordan bevidsthed konstitueres i samspillet mellem subjekt og omverden. Han har i stigende grad ladet sig inspirere af fænomenologien, og artiklen diskuterer, hvilke konsekvenser dette har for forståelsen af centrale begreber som AMODAL PERCEPTION OG REPRÆSENTATION, VITALITETSAFFEKT, AFFEKTIV AFSTEMNING, INTERSUBJEKTIVITET og DET NUVÆRENDE ØJEBLIK. Efter en diskussion af begreberne og deres forhold til fænomenologi og musikpsykologi præsenteres og diskuteres begrebet om MUSIKALSK SELV(FORNEMMELSE) kort. Endelig påpeges nogle musikpædagogiske implikationer af den teoretiske diskussion.
The Nordic countries have a strong tradition for amateur choirs for adults that have a fundamental cultural and social importance for the participants as well as in a broader societal perspective. Since March 2020 the Covid-19 pandemic has fundamentally changed the conditions for amateur choirs and, referring to recent research, the immediate consequences of the pandemic for choir singing are briefly described. A phenomenological ground is described as point of departure for the problem: How do dedicated singers in amateur choirs experience being a choir singer in the light of the Covid19 pandemic, and what kinds of meaning do the singers connect with social, aesthetic and ethic aspects?
Interviews with 16 experienced choir singers show that singing in choir may be existentially meaningful and that musical aesthetic experiences are what they most deeply are missing since the lock down of choir singing since March 2020. Regarding the risk of contamination during the pandemic, it is a widely held opinion among the participants that each member of the choir should be responsible for her-/himself at least by complying with the given restrictions, and that the responsibility for other participants therefore should be ‘reduced’ (given back) to the Other’s responsibility for her-/himself. In case of personal concerns, the implication is to not participate. The article discusses aesthetical, social and ethical problems related to the practice of amateur choirs and the meaning creation of the participants.
