Aus methanolischen Lo È sungen von LiI, HgI 2 und 12-krone-4 wurden durch Diffusion Kristalle von [Li(12-krone-4) 2 ] 2 [Hg 3 I 8 ] (1) mit einem neuen diskreten Octaiodotrimercurat(II)-Ion erhalten, das, im Gegensatz zum bisher bekannten gewinkelten [Hg 3 I 8 ]-Ion, linear aus drei kantenverknu È pften [HgI 4 ]-Tetraedern aufgebaut ist. Aus KI, HgI 2 und Benzo-15-krone-5 entstand ein Komplex der formalen Zusammensetzung [K(benzo-15-krone-5) 2 ][Hg 2 I 5 ] (2) mit einem polymeren, kettenfo È rmigen Iodomercurat-Ion, das man sich aus [Hg 2 I 6 ]-Einheiten aufgebaut denken kann, die u È ber gemeinsame Iodidionen trans-verknu È pft sind. Auf beiden Seiten der Kette befinden sich [K(benzo-15-krone-5) 2 ]-Kationen, die u È ber ±CH´´´I-Wechselwirkungen an Iodatome der Ketten gebunden sind. Aus einer wa È ssrigen Lo È sung, die LaI 3 und HgI 2 enthielt, kristallisierte der sechskernige Komplex [La 6 (H 2 O) 24 (OH) 8 (O)][(HgI 4 ) 4 ] (3). Die sechs La(III)-Ionen sind oktaedrisch angeordnet, ein O-Ion liegt im Zentrum des Oktaeders, je drei La-Ionen werden von acht dreiza È hnigen OH-Ionen, die oberhalb der Oktaederfla È-chen liegen, verbru È ckt. Jedes La-Ion hat ferner vier Koordinationswasser-Liganden. Kationen und Anionen sind u È ber Wasserstoffbru È ckenbindungen verknu È pft. Investigations on Iodomercurates: Crystal Structures of Bis[di(12-crown-4)lithium]octaiodotrimercurate(II) and catena-Poly{di[(benzo-15-crown-5)potassium]pentaiododimercurate(II)} with new Iodomercurate Anions and a Lanthanum(III) tetraidomercurate(II), [La 6 (OH) 8 (O)(H 2 O) 24 ][HgI 4 ] 4 with a Hexanuclear Complex Cation Abstract. By diffusion of methanolic solutions of LiI/HgI 2 and 12-crown-4, resp. crystals of [Li(12-crown-4) 2 ] 2 [Hg 3 I 8 ] (1) were obtained. They contain a new finite octaiodotrimercurate(II) ion which, contrary to the twisted [Hg 3 I 8 ] 2± ion known so far, is built up linearily from three [HgI 4 ] tetrahedra sharing common edges. From solutions of KI, HgI 2 , and benzo-15-crown-5, a complex of formal composition [K(benzo-15-crown-5) 2 ][Hg 2 I 5 ] (2) was formed containing a polymeric iodomercurate ion with a chain structure built up from [Hg 2 I 6 ] units trans connected by common iodide ions. On both sides of the chains [K(benzo-15-crown-5) 2 ] + cations are bounded by CH´´´I interactions. From an aqueous solution of LaI 3 /HgI 2 the hexanuclear complex [La 6 (H 2 O) 24 -(OH) 8 (O)][(HgI 4 ) 4 ](3) was obtained. The six La(III) ions form an octahedron with an O ion in the center, eight three dentate OH ions situated above the faces of the octahedron bind to the three La ions forming the face. Each La ion is further bound to four coordination water molecules. Cations and anions are connected via H bonds.
