Purpose
This study aims to create a systematic knowledge base on importance and utilization patterns of underrated pseudo-cereals prevalent in the northeastern hilly (NEH) region of India, namely, buckwheat, Job’s tears, chenopod and amaranth, enabling their diversified use to develop innovative food products from them. The information presented in the paper would facilitate scientists, trainers and young entrepreneurs in developing many novel food products from these underrated pseudo-cereals.
Design/methodology/approach
Major scientific information has been collected from Scopus, Web of Science and Google Scholar. Several keywords such as underrated crop, pseudo-cereals, buckwheat, chenopod, Job’s tears, amaranth, value addition and utilization were used to find the data. Relevant information was collected by using about 60 recent research and review articles.
Findings
The main findings of this comprehensive study include compiled record of utilization of underrated pseudo-cereals found in the NEH region of India and their scope to innovate smart food products.
Originality/value
The paper presents a comprehensive record of nutritional benefits and utilization status of the underrated pseudo-cereals available in the NEH region of India. This knowledge base would help both the researchers and other professional working in the processing of these crops.
SUMMARY :Investigations were carried out to study the varietal characterization of paddy hybrid and its parents through chemical tests and using iamge analyzer. Among the different chemical tests, phenol and modified phenol test showed differences in which male seeds had no change in colour development whereas, seeds of female and hybrid showed brown colouration. In case of FeSO 4 , KOH and NaOH tests both parents and hybrid showed similar colour reaction. The results obtained through image analysis with regard to seed length and seed width could be useful for varietal characterization of paddy genotypes. Based on seed length both parents and hybrid were grouped as medium length, based on seed width, parents and hybrid were grouped as broad seeds. But based on Seed length/ width ratio of seeds, female and hybrid seeds were grouped as elongated seeds whereas, male as semi elongated.
Test case prioritization involves scheduling test cases so that the performance of software testing can be improved. Thus resulting in high quality software with minimum faults and errors [12]. Therefore in this paper, model based test case prioritization using Memetic algorithm, is proposed for giving an all-purpose solution in prioritization and optimization problem which can be used efficiently. A model based testing method is introduced. This method can prioritize test case using activity diagram and genetic algorithm. The result shows that using this method with Memetic algorithm (MA) provide efficiency and accuracy for test cases [3].
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
