This study aimed to study the effect of stocking density on live weight, carcasses and giblets of broiler in closed houses; and to determine the best stocking density on live weight, carcass and giblet of broiler in a closed house. This research was conducted in April-May 2019 for 28 days with 14 days of treatments period (14-28 days) at PT. Charoen Pokphand (Kandang Bandara 2) located in Bangun Sari hamlet, Way Sari Village, Natar District, Lampung Selatan Regency. This study used a Completely Randomized Design with four treatments, of stocking density of 15 heads/m2 (P1), stocking density of 17 heads/m2 (P2), stocking density of 19 heads/m2 (P3), and stocking density of 21 heads/m2 (P4), with five replications for each treatment. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance at 5% level. The result of the analysis of variance showed that the different stocking density had no significant effect on the live weight, carcasses, and giblet of broiler at 28 days of age in the closed house. This research aims to determine the effect of harvest age Indigofera zollingeriana in dry season on the content of Neutral Detergent Fiber (NDF) and Acid Detergent Fiber (ADF). This research used a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications. The treatment consisted of harvest age at 40 days, harvest age at 55 days, harvest age at 70 days, and harvest age at 85 days. Data were analyzed using Variance Analysis and post-hoc test of Least Significance Different (LSD). The parameters consisted of NDF and ADF. The results of this research indicate that Indigofera zollingeriana which was harvested at 55 days has the highest NDF content (81.61%) and has significantly different (P <0.01) than the NDF content at harvest age of 40 days (70.93%), harvest age 70 days (68.80%), and at harvest age 85 days (67.23%). In addition, Indigofera zollingeriana that was harvested at 55 days has ADF content (56.68%) and at 70 days of harvest had ADF content (54.24%) that was significantly different (P <0.01) compared to ADF content at harvest age of 40 days by 48.35% and the harvest age of 85 days bay 49,41%. It was concluded that Indigofera zollingeriana at the harvest age of 55 days in the dry season was the best harvest age with its NDF content of 81.61% and the ADF content of 56.68%. Therefore, it is recommended to plant Indigofera zollingeriana in the dry season, and it should be harvested at the harvest age of 55 days. This study aimed to determine the productivity and nutrient content of three grasstypes with or without rubber trees shading. It was conducted in May-September 2020at Sangga Buana Village, Seputih Banyak, Central Lampung and Animal Nutrition andFood Laboratory, University of Lampung. This study used nested design with two factorsof rubber trees shaded and grass types with six replications. Both factors were shadedconditions: N0 (land without shade) and N1 (land under rubber trees shade); and grasstypes: elephant grass (A1); setaria (A2); and odot (A3). The results showed the shadeddecreased (P<0.05) leave length of each grass compared to non-shading conditions.Grass under the shade decreased their production and odot grass showed the lowestproduction (P<0.05). The number of tillers and plant height under the shade decreasedsignificantly (P<0.05) on elephant grass and setaria grass. Leaf width under the shadedecreased significantly (P<0.05) on setaria and odot grass. The shaded effected (P<0.05)nutrient content on elephant grass, setaria, and odot. It was concluded that Setariagrass (Setaria sphacelata) had the best productivity under the shaded based on yield. The nutrient content of each grass varied depending on the ability of the grass to adaptto shaded conditions.
This study aimed to determine the effect of storage time at refrigerator temperature on the external and internal quality of the second phase layer chicken herbal eggs. This research was conducted on May 21 – September 2021 at the Livestock Production Laboratory, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. This research was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 9 treatments and 4 replications. Each replication consisted of 3 eggs. The data obtained were analyzed for Analysis of Variance at the 5% level of significance, the results of the variance analysis were significantly different, the Least Significant Difference test was continued. The results of this study showed that the weight of herbal eggs decreased significantly (P<0.05) with increasing storage time, which was for 8 weeks ranging from 0.90% – 5.82%. Albumen index also decreased and the storage of herbal eggs for 0 weeks (0.073) was significantly (P<0.05) higher than storage for 1-8 weeks (0.061-0.036). Likewise, the yolk index in herbal egg storage for 0 – 1 week (0.420 – 0.411) was significantly higher (P<0.05) compared to storage for 2 – 8 weeks (0.388 – 0.358). On the other hand, the size of the air cavity diameter showed that the longer the storage time is increasing, which is for 8 weeks ranging from 1.409 cm – 3.058 cm. The quality of the second phase layer chicken herbal eggs was classified as well based on the average HU value (52.25 – 72.55). Conclusion of this study were 1) the longer storage time at refrigerator temperature could decrease egg weight, albumen index, yolk index, air cavity diameter, and Haugh Unit and could increase the size of the air cavity diameter of second phase layer chicken herbal eggs; and 2) the quality of the second phase layer chicken herbal eggs that were stored at refrigerator temperature for up to 8 weeks was classified as well based on the average HU value
