Microwave communication system is often implemented as a network cellular backhaul, due to its simplicity of installation and capability to reach remote areas which are difficult to reach using fiber optics. This paper compares the microwave network with frequency diversity and space diversity technique in the lake area using Pathloss 5.0, using two sites, site Mongal and site Bintang in Aceh. These two sites are located in two cities separated by a Lake, so it doesn't support wireline communications. Therefore, wireless communication is needed on site Mongal and site Bintang. Availability of the system without diversity optimization is 99.9554%. Using frequency diversity with frequency difference of 460 MHz, 920 MHz, and 1,380 MHz and using space diversity with space of 0.9 meter, 1.7 meter, and 2.6 meter, best availability of 99.9977% is obtained. The best availability is obtained using space diversity with maximum spacing of 2.6 meter under the main antenna. Intisari-Sistem komunikasi gelombang mikro banyak diimplementasikan sebagai jaringan backhaul jaringan seluler, karena memiliki kelebihan dalam kesederhanaan instalasi dan dapat menjangkau wilayah terpencil yang sulit terjangkau serat optik. Dalam makalah ini, dilakukan perbandingan penggunaan teknik frequency diversity dan teknik space diversity pada konfigurasi jaringan gelombang mikro di lingkungan danau dengan menggunakan Pathloss 5.0, dengan menggunakan dua site, yaitu site Mongal dan site Bintang di daerah Aceh. Dua site ini berada di dua buah kota yang terpisahkan oleh sebuah danau, sehingga tidak mendukung diadakannya komunikasi wireline. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya komunikasi secara wireless pada site Mongal dan site Bintang. Sebelum dilakukan optimasi teknik diversity, diperoleh availibility sebesar 99,9554%. Setelah digunakan teknik frequency diversity dengan perbedaan frekuensi 460 MHz, 920 MHz dan 1.380 MHz serta space diversity dengan spasi 0,9 meter, 1,7 meter dan 2,6 meter, didapat hasil availability yang paling baik dengan nilai 99,9977%, saat menggunakan teknik space diversity dengan jarak (spasi) maksimum 2,6 meter di bawah antena utama.
