Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengembangkan bahan ajar struktur aljabar dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pembuktian matematis mahasiswa dan (2) mengetahui kemampuan pembuktian matematis mahasiswa setelah memperoleh pembelajaran dengan menggunakan bahan ajar yang dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development approach dengan menggunakan model 4-D (Four-D Models). Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa IKIP PGRI Pontianak yang mengambil matakuliah struktur aljabar pada semester ganjil tahun akademik 2014/2015 yang terdiri atas satu kelas. Data dianalisis melalui perpaduan deskriptif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) bahan ajar struktur aljabar yang telah disusun tergolong valid baik dari segi kecermatan isi, ketercernaan, penggunaan bahasa, maupun perwajahan, dengan beberapa catatan perbaikan, (2) penggunaan bahan ajar struktur aljabar dapat mengembangkan kemampuan pembuktian matematis sebesar 18,84%. This study belonged to the research and development approach using the four-D model. The data were analyzed both descriptively and qualitatively. The findings showed that: (1) the developed algebraic structure teaching materials were valid viewed from the content accuracy, understandability, language use, and face validity, with some notes for improvement, and (2) the use of the developed algebraic structure teaching materials could improve students' mathematical proof ability as much as 18.84%. Abstrak: Miskonsepsi siswa dalam penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat perlu diatasi karena materi ini merupakan prasyarat bagi siswa untuk mempelajari materi matematika lanjutan seperti aljabar. Kesalahan dalam memahami konsep prasyarat akan menghambat penerimaan dan integrasi pengetahuan baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan media pembelajaran refutation text untuk mengatasi miskonsepsi siswa dalam penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat. Refutation text yang dikembangkan berbentuk Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) dengan merujuk pada model pengembangan Borg dan Gall (1983). Uji coba refutation text dilakukan pada 15 orang siswa SMP kelas VII. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) hasil penilaian ahli menunjukkan refutation text layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran bagi guru dalam mengajarkan penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat; (2) refutation text yang diterapkan di kelas uji coba efektif dalam mengatasi miskonsepsi siswa dalam penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat; dan (3) hasil penilaian praktisi dan respon siswa menunjukkan bahwa refutation text praktis digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk mengatasi miskonsepsi siswa. Dalam hal ini, refutation text yang dikembangkan membantu siswa memperbaiki kesalahan konsep pada materi penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat dan bisa digunakan oleh guru di kelas. Namun, refutation text tersebut perlu dikembangkan untuk mengantisipasi kesalahan siswa dalam mengintepretasi soal cerita dengan menyediakan beberapa kemungkinan kesalahan intepretasi dan perbaikan.Abstract: Students' misconceptions in addition and subtraction of integers need to be addressed since this topic is a prerequisite for students to learn advanced mathematics topics such as algebra. Having misconceptions in understanding the prerequisite concepts will hamper the acquisition and integration of new knowledge. The purpose of this study was to develop refutation text to resolve the misconception of students in addition and subtraction of integers. Refutation text was developed in the form of student worksheet adopting the development model from Borg and Gall (1983). Tryout of refutation text involved fifteen seventh-grade students. The study found that (1) The experts' validation reveals that refutation text is suitable to be used as learning media for students on addition and subtraction of integers; (2) The refutation text implemented in the tryout was useful to resolve students' misconception in addition and subtraction of integers; and (3) The practitioner's assessment and students' response showed that refutation text is practical. Drawing from the findings, we argue that the developed refutation text help students correcting their misconceptions in the topics and could be used by the teachers in the classroom practices. However, the refutation text needs to be extended to anticipate students' mistake in interpreting word problems by providing some possible mistakes and its correction.
Pembelajaran PPKn merupakan mata pelajaran yang memfokuskan pada pembentukan karakter siswa untuk menjadi warga negara yang cerdas, terampil dan berkarakter yang diamanatkan oleh Pancasila dan UUD 1945. Tujuan untuk membangun karakter siswa tentunya tidaklah mudah, oleh karena itu diperlukan suatu upaya yang berkesinambungan dalam pembelajaran PPKn. Salah satu upaya yang perlu dilakukan adalah dengan mengembangkan model-model pembelajaran yang berbasis pendidikan karakter untuk membangun karakter positif siswa dalam pembelajaran PPKn. Hasil analisis yang dilakukan menggambarkan bahwa karakter positif siswa dapat dibentuk melalui penerapan modelmodel pembelajaran yang inovatif dalam pembelajaran PPKn. Hasil analisis tersebut selanjutnya dapat digunakan dalam mengembangkan langkah-langkah (sintaks) dalam pembelajaran. The aim of building student character is certainly not easy. Therefore a continuous effort is needed in learning PPKn. One initiative that needs to be done is to develop learning models based on character education to build positive character of students in learning PPKn. The results of the analysis carried out illustrate that the positive aspect of students can be formed through the application of innovative learning models in PPKn learning. The results of the analysis can then be used in developing steps (syntax) in learning.
The aim of this research was to investigate the improvement of student's ability on mathematical representation by using teaching materials based on open ended approach in differential calculus subject. This research was conducted at STKIP PGRI Pontianak in the even semester of 2012/2013 academic year. This research used cluster random sampling by choosing one of the four classes at the mathematics education department in the academic year of 2012/ 2013. The experimental method with the one group pretest-posttest design was applied in this research. The result of this research showed that: 1) there was an improvement on student's ability on mathematical representation by using differential calculus teaching material based on open ended approach with moderate of quality of improvement level, 2) there was a difference on student's ability on mathematical representation when it was viewed from the level of student's prior knowledge, and 3) there was no difference on student's ability on mathematical representation when it was viewed from their gender.
