Pharmacy is a pharmaceutical service facility carried out by pharmacists by providing services directly and responsibly to patients related to pharmaceutical preparations in order to achieve definite results to improve the quality of life of patients. However, currently irrational treatment still often occurs, one of which is with inappropriate prescribing. This will have a negative impact on society. The purpose of this study was to evaluate drug prescribing in one of the pharmacies in the city of Medan. This is a descriptive evaluative research. The data was collected retrospectively and concurrently. Then the raw data was categorized into quantitative data and it was represented in tables to compare the data visually. Meanwhile, qualitative data was collected by observation and interview with the interviewees. The results showed that some indicators of prescribing drugs to patients in one of the pharmacies in Medan city still did not meet the standards, namely the average number of drug items per prescription sheet in 2021 was 3.63 and the percentage of prescribing drugs with generic names in 2021 was 80.9 %. While the prescribing indicators that are in accordance with the standards are the percentage of prescribing antibiotics for 2021 at 6.47%, the percentage of drugs that can be delivered is 90%, and the percentage of drugs that are completely labeled 100%. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that there were still indicators of prescribing drugs carried out in one of the pharmacies in the city of Medan that did not meet the standards.
Pharmacy is a place where pharmaceutical services are held by pharmacists who are responsible for patients. Pharmaceutical services in pharmacies are related to drugs with the aim of achieving definite results to improve the quality of life of patients. So the management of drugs in pharmacies needs to be done properly and precisely to ensure the availability of sufficient and quality drugs in order to achieve optimal service goals by implementing a storage system that is in accordance with pharmaceutical service standards no.73 of 2016. Therefore the purpose of this research is to evaluate the drug storage system in one of the Medan city pharmacies based on pharmaceutical service standards. This research is descriptive with retrospective data collection. The data obtained were grouped into quantitative data presented in tabular form to see visual comparisons, and qualitative data obtained through observation and interviews with informants. The results showed that in several indicators of drug storage in one of the Medan city pharmacies based on Permenkes No. 73 of 2016 there are still those that have not complied with, namely in the preparation of LASA drugs and writing document numbers on drug stock cards. Meanwhile, the standard drug storage indicators are the columns on the stock card consisting of receipt or dispensing date, receipt or disbursement document number, source of origin of the drug, no. batch/no. Lot, expiry date, receipt and disbursement amount, remaining stock, and officer's initials, as well as suitability for drug storage based on dosage form, alphabetical order, and FEFO and FIFO storage methods. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that the drug storage system carried out in one of the pharmacies in the city of Medan did not meet pharmaceutical service standards based on Permenkes No. 73 of 2016.
Penyakit degeneratif saat ini telah menjadi ancaman serius kesehatan global, salah satu diantara penyakit degeneratif tersebut adalah Diabetes Melitus (DM). Perhatian pada penyakit DM semakin tinggi karena prevalensinya semakin meningkat pada masyarakat. Salah satunya terjadi pada masyarakat Desa Kolam, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, dimana kesadaran terhadap pentingnya pemeriksaan kesehatan khususnya pemeriksaan kadar gula darah (KGD) masih rendah. Hal ini disebabkan karena kurangnya pengetahuan dan masalah ekonomi masyarakat. Pemeriksaan ini perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui kadar gula darah dalam tubuh apakah dalam batas normal, kurang, atau melebihi batas normal dan sebagai deteksi dini penyakit DM. Guna mengatasi masalah tersebut dilakukan kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat dengan tujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat Desa Kolam mengenai penyakit DM melalui edukasi, penyuluhan kesehatan, dan pemeriksaan gula darah sewaktu. Metode yang digunakan dalam edukasi dan penyuluhan adalah ceramah dan diskusi, serta untuk melihat tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat dilakukan pre test dan post test dengan memberikan kuesioner berisi pertanyaan terkait DM sesuai dengan materi yang akan dipaparkan. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Paired T Test pada program SPSS. Pemeriksaan gula darah acak dilakukan menggunakan glucometer. Kegiatan ini dilakukan terhadap masyarakat, dibantu oleh kader posyandu dan pihak terkait di wilayah Dusun I Desa Kolam, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan.Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta tentang penyakit DM tipe 2, gejala/ tanda, pencegahan, faktor risiko, pola hidup sehat, komplikasi yang ditimbulkan apabila kadar gula darah tidak terkontrol, dan kepatuhan dalam minum obat. Pemeriksaan kadar gula darah sewaktu pada masyarakat dilakukan sebagai upaya deteksi dini dan skrining penyakit DM tipe 2.
