Dans ce contexte, à l’aide d’un système d’information géographique (SIG), nous avons cherché à dresser un portrait global de la dynamique de l’implantation des garderies au cours de la période 1990-2001.Due to its favorable location, Moncton has been the railway center of Maritime Provinces for almost a century and has become in the 1960s, an important delivery and service center. Nowadays, Moncton plays a significant role in the development of Maritimes, gathering telecommunications and new information technologies. It is also culturally rich as it has the highest concentration of Acadians. Since 1994, after provincial political reforms regarding daycare services, the existence of daycare centers completely depends on supply and demand fluctuations. Data on such services in the region of Moncton indicate that since the reform of 1994, 10 % of aggregated daycare centers close every year, while 20 % more are added to the existing list. Along with the help of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), this paper aims at modeling a global portrait of daycare center implementation throughout the past decade
