A catalytic system KBr -oleum is effective at catalyzing the selective oxidation of methane to methanol via. methyl bisulfate. The infl uences of methane pressure, sulfur trioxide and temperature on turnover frequency were investigated.
Homogeneous catalysts for methane oxidation are of a particular interest from scientifi c and economic points of view. The results show a great potential for activation and functionalization of CH bonds of unreactive methane. There are still gaps in the knowledge of how to rationally design catalysts for this process. In this paper state-ofthe-art. in methane oxidation homogenous catalysis is presented.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
