Imidazole derivatives R 0190Novel One-Pot Synthesis of (4 or 5)-Aryl-2-aryloyl-(1H)-imidazoles in Water and Tauto-Isomerization Study Using NMR. -Arylglyoxal compounds are condensed with excess ammonium acetate in the absence of any catalyst to give inseparable mixtures of isomeric imidazoles. The acidity and stability of the products are studied using the B3LYP method.
