Breast cancer is the subsequent foremost reason of cancer death in a woman and ranks as the primary foremost reason of death in India. In its conduct, several measures and recommendation are considered. Homoeopathic medicines are one of the part of a corresponding, and another medicine is utilized for the treatment of cancer. The main purpose of the investigation is to evaluate the anticancer action of homoeopathic arrangements of Asterias rubens on the basis of the similia principle. We directed an in vitro study using MTT assay to control the result of ultra diluted homoeopathic preparation in contradiction of two human breast glandular cancer cell lines(MCF-7 and MDA-MD- 231), frequently used for the breast cancer treatment, by testing the feasibility of breast cancer (MCF-7 and MDA-MD-231) cell line, with various attenuations of Asterias rubens at 24 hrs. Multiple comparisons between tested reagents at different concentrations confirmed the significance of the said results. At a dilution of 1:25 6CH and 30CH potency shown superior activity on MCF-7 and no such significant changes on MDA-MD-231 at any dilutions As it fails to offer estrogen receptor(ER) Also progesterone receptor (PR) expression, and also HER2 (human epidermal development variable receptor2) so continuously a triple-negative breast cancer it will be a hostility manifestation for breast cancer with restricted medicine choices. However, further potency needs to be tested. These preliminary significant results warrant further in vitro and in vivo studies to estimate the possible of Asterias rubens a medicine to treat breast cancer.
In this manuscript, an enhanced performance of Electric Vehicle (EV) charger (battery) by adopting Bridge Less (BL) Cuk converter and Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm is investigated. Minimum numbers of switches are employed in this proposed methodology to charge the battery with optimum cost. Steady state input voltages and currents are obtained even though the EV charger operates with unbalanced load i.e. operated in underload, nominal load, or overload. It maintains constant battery parameters even under unbalance in input supply also. Robustness is achieved by operating BL-Cuk converter with ABC algorithm even with variation of 50% rise or decay in input voltage. Proposed technique utilizes reduced number of switches, so conduction losses are less and no need of DC link capacitor. Hence, balance voltage appears across the capacitor over the conventional EV charging approaches. Fly back converters are introduced to synchronize the AC supply, Cuk converter and EV charger.
<p><strong>Background</strong>: Chronic ear discharge in chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM) persisting for more than two weeks has become difficult to treat for ENT specialists due to resistance to the available antibiotics and patient's affordability for its cost. Also, biofilms have been responsible for the disease and cause tympanic membrane perforation and deafness. The use of 1.5% acetic acid irrigation acts as an antiseptic, and altering the middle ear's pH to treat otorrhea in CSOM needs to be studied. Aim of the study to assess results of 1.5% acetic acid irrigation and topical and systemic antibiotic in CSOM and to consider the most appropriate medical management</p><p><strong>Methods</strong>: A total of 100 patients of CSOM was divided equally into two groups. Group 1 patients were treated with 1.5% acetic acid irrigation every other day, and group 2 was treated with topical and systemic antibiotics three drops’ times daily. Follow up of both groups every week up to symptomatic relief.</p><p><strong>Results</strong>: Otorrhoea resolution in the group treated with acetic acid was 88%, and healing of perforation was noted in 28 %, while the failure rate of 12%.</p><p><strong>Conclusions</strong>: Medical management of persistent CSOM with tubotympanic type by frequent aural cleaning, 1.5% acetic acid irrigation can be the more desirable choice than the topical and oral antibiotics. It is safe without any side effects and economical. Alteration of ear canal PH is one of the main factors for healing, in addition to mechanical disruption of biofilm and removal of deep-seated debris.</p><p><strong> </strong></p>
A prospective observational study of comparison of tympanoplasty using endomeatal approach using tragal cartilage and perichondrium with post auricular approach using temporalis fascia graft: an institutional study V. Janardhan, Teja, Vinay Singh Bhat, Rajaram INTRODUCTIONAlthough tympanoplasty is being preferred as the procedure of choice for the eradication of disease in middle ear with closure of tympanic membrane perforation and is also helpful in reconstruction of the hearing mechanism with or without ossiculoplasty, there exists a lot of interest in various techniques of tympanoplasty and their clinical outcomes. 1 Though a lot of work has been published in this area and research is progressing to a lot more advanced aspects, understanding the proper technique of approach of the ABSTRACT Background: Evaluation of success of tympanoplasty depends on various host and surgical factors has been subject of interest for many years and still continues to be challenge. Methods: Present study was undertaken to observe results of type I tympanoplasty using tragal cartilage and perichondrium with temporalis fascia grafts using endomeatal and postauricular approach. Results: Study group comprises of 30 patients in Group A and B operated by tympanoplasty type I by endomeatal and postauricular techniques. Success was 96.3% in Group A and 94.7% in Group B for closure of membrane perforation. During postoperative period average time taken for wound healing was 23 days in Group A and 35 days in Group B. Preoperative and postoperative assessment of hearing performed with pure tone audiometry revealed an average hearing loss of 36.50 dB in Group A before surgery and postoperative assessment at end of 1 year revealed hearing improvement of 14.23 dB. In Group B preoperative assessment revealed hearing loss of 38.23 dB lowered to 15.12 dB after surgery. When hearing improvement in both groups were compared preoperatively and postoperatively, in Group A there was improvement of 22.27 dB while in Group B was 23.11 dB. The hearing improvements in both the groups appear to be similar when the results were compared. In present study overall success rate was 89.7% which is comparable to outcome of surgery performed with post auricular approach with temporalis fascia graft which is 91.3%. When postoperative complications were studied it was observed that Group A had fewer numbers of complications as over Group B which was documented in Table 2. Conclusions: Success of tympanoplasty depends on several host and surgical factors. Tragal perichondrium appears as proven alternate for closure of perforation of tympanic membrane. Cosmetically endomeatal approach appears promising over post auricular approach.
