Preschool is a defining period in how children can effectively adapt to their peers and adults, as well as how they fit into a community where they cannot always assert their own interests. Since there is less information available about the treatment of social problems of preschool children in Vojvodina, the research carried out in 2021 (N=147) had two goals: (1) direct assessment of preschool children's social problem solving using verbal and visual assessment tools based on stories about situations that cause frustration, and (2) to explore parents' and teachers' opinions about children's problem solving. The results of the direct assessment with preschoolers show that four-year-olds mostly have a negative attitude towards their problems, and they mostly use impulsive and avoidant solutions. The parents' and teachers' opinions differ significantly: teachers consider it more typical to have adjustment difficulties at each age group, while parents find children to be more prosocial. The results clearly show the situations that require the greatest challenge and development in managing children's interpersonal problems more effectively, thus forming the basis for the creation of a development program.
