Precise initial staging is necessary to determine a diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. OBJECTIVE To examine the diagnostic accuracy of preoperative 18-F fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomographic/computed tomographic (PET/CT) imaging in detecting cervical lymph node metastases.
