The 1971 annual meeting of the Florida Section of the Air Pollution Control Association was designed to explore the legal aspects of air pollution control. Under the able chairmanship of Nath C. Doughtie, Esquire, of the law firm of West, Doughtie & Fiber, Gainesville, Florida, the program included such subjects as theories of pollution suits, tactics used in pollution suits, state agency enforcement, local agency enforcement, and use of the expert witness. Two of the papers presented were judged by the editor to be of special interest to readers of the Journal of the Air Pollution Control Association and they appear on the following pages. The papers are ' 'Analysis of Important Recent Environmental Cases" and "Tax-free Financing of Pollution Control Facilities".
