Increasing numbers of EFL teachers have integrated blogging as their classroom practices. Research has also shown that blogging is an effective tool for students to improve English writing skills. However, the use of online blogs in EFL writing classes in Indonesia seems still relatively few and students' perceptions of its impacts on their writing has not been much explored. This research study reports on Indonesian EFL learners' perceptions of the use of Blogger (formerly known as Blogspot), an online blogging platform as part of their learning practices in a Creative Writing class. A qualitative study using questionnaire and semi-structured interview was applied to explore the students' perceptions. Thirty students took part in this study by writing their reflective journals on Blogger weekly over 8-week period. The findings revealed that the students responded positively to the use of Blogger as a learning tool in EFL writing classroom. Furthermore, they also reported that online blogging is effective in promoting their writing fluency as well as increasing their awareness of writing for audience. This study recommends that online blogging be part of EFL writing classes and be incorporated into school curricula in Indonesia.
The purpose of this study was to determine: (1) the influence of madrasa head leadership on teacher performance; (2) the effect of motivation on teacher performance (3) the influence of madrasa culture on teacher performance; (4) the influence of madrasa head leadership and motivation on teacher performance in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Model. The study was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Model located on Wiliem Iskandar no. 7A Medan. This research is a quantitative study with a population of 149 people and a sample of 109 people who were determined using the Slovin method. The results showed that (1) there was a positive and significant influence between the leadership of the madrasah head on teacher performance; (2) there is a positive and significant effect between motivation on teacher performance. (3) there is a positive and significant influence between madrasa culture on teacher performance. (4) there is a positive and significant influence between madrasah head leadership and motivation on teacher performance. (5) there is a positive and significant influence between the leadership of the madrasa headmaster and madrasa culture on teacher performance. (6) there is a positive and significant influence between motivation and madrasa culture on teacher performance. (7) there is a positive and significant influence between madrasah head leadership, motivation and madrasa culture together on teacher performance. Madrasah headship leadership, motivation and madrasa culture have an effect on teacher performance by 53.4% and the remaining 46.6% is determined by other factors.
The research aims to find out: (1) a significant positive relationship between participating in training with job satisfaction of learning citizens, (2) a significant positive relationship between achievement motivation and job satisfaction and (3) a significant positive relationship between participating in training and achievement motivation together with job satisfaction of citizens learning. The study population was all citizens studying the Tanjung Balai City Course and Training Institute with a total of 72 people. The entire population was sampled as a study. The research instrument used was a Likert scale questionnaire. Requirement test is performed to test the normality, linearity, and independence of the independent variables. Data analysis techniques used correlation and regression and simple correlation and regression and multiple correlations at the significance level α = 0.05. The research findings show: (1) there is a positive and significant relationship between training and job satisfaction It means that the higher and more positive the training, the higher and more positive job satisfaction by making an effective contribution of 20.00%. (2) There is a positive and significant correlation between achievement motivation and job satisfaction. This means that the higher and more positive achievement motivation, the higher and more positive job satisfaction by making an effective contribution of 9.90%. And (3) there is a positive and significant effect together between participating in training and achievement motivation with job satisfaction. This means that the higher and more positive training and achievement motivation, the higher and more positive job satisfaction by making an effective contribution of 30.20%.
