-The applications of information technology in daily life have created a digital society. As a member of digital society, each of us should be adaptive to technology changes. Computational thinking becomes an essensial skill for everyone in the digital era. Since 2005, Bebras Community has an initiative to promote computational thinking among school students through a challenge anually. In 2016, for the first time Indonesia participated as a Bebras observer by organizing a national Bebras challenge for school students. There were 1500 students engaged in the challenge. Faculty of Information Technology became a Bebras partner by performing teacher workshop and Bebras challenge in Bandung in 2016. The workshop was attended by 18 teacher, while the challenge was followed by 162 school students. Some of the students had achieved top ten in the challenge.
Abstrak-Aplikasi pengelolaan laboratorium komputer dirancang dan diterapkan sebagai studi kasus pengukuran evaluasi tingkat kegunaan, dengan tujuan akhir sebagai peningkatan layanan dari laboratorium. Aplikasi dirancang untuk dapat mengakomodasi tiga tingkatan pengguna dengan memiliki empat fitur utama, yaitu: chatting, internet connection, service request serta information. Hasil rancangan dan implementasi aplikasi telah dievaluasi dengan menggunakan standar ISO 9241-11 untuk mengukur tingkat kegunaan (usability) terhadap pengguna, tiga faktor yang terlibat dalam pengukuran adalah efektivitas, efisiensi, serta kepuasan. Pengukuran tingkat kegunaan penting untuk menentukan tingkat penerimaan pengguna terhadap aplikasi dan sekaligus sebagai sarana pengumpulan masukan untuk penyempurnaan aplikasi bagi pengembang. Hasil evaluasi untuk tingkat efektivitas menunjukkan angka keberhasilan yang tinggi terhadap penggunaan aplikasi, yaitu 90-100%. Sedangkan hasil pengukuran efisiensi menunjukkan waktu penggunaan fitur yang masih belum merata, ada sebagian fitur yang masih belum intuitif sehingga membutuhkan waktu yang cukup panjang bagi pengguna untuk mengoperasikan sebuah fitur, dengan waktu terlama 20 detik. Sejalan dengan hasil evaluasi efektivitas yang tinggi, pengukuran tingkat kepuasan pengguna juga menghasilkan contribution score yang signifikan di angka 88,75, sehingga dapat ditarik simpulan bahwa pengguna hanya memiliki sedikit ketidaknyamanan pada aplikasi dan relatif memberikan penilaian positif pada implementasi aplikasi.Kata Kunci-Evaluasi usability, Perancangan Perangkat Lunak, Standar ISO 9241-11, User Experience Abstract-A laboratory management application has been designed and implemented as a case study for usability evaluation of the application, with the final aim is to increase the service level of the laboratory. The application is designed to accommodate three different users with their own specific roles and also has four main features, that are: chatting, internet connection, service request, and information. The result of the application's design and implementation have been evaluated using ISO 9241-11 standard to measure the effectivity, efficiency, and satisfaction. The measurement of usability level is important for determining the users' acceptance level of application and also as a feedback mechanism for the benefit of application improvement by the developer. Evaluation results for effectivity level show a high success rate of the application usage, as big as 90-100%. While the efficiency measurement results show the time of use of application's features that are still not evenly distributed, there are several features that are not quite intuitive and require a long time for users to accomplish some particular tasks, with the longest time is 20 seconds. Load balancing is a technique to distribute traffic load into two or more lanes to reach balanced connection, optimized traffic performance, maximized data throughput, minimized delay, and avoiding data overload. Load balancing in a computer network used to modulate the balance of bandwidth usage between multiple internet service provider. This research contains Load Balancing performance test on HTTP, FTP, and VoIP. Testing application used is OPNET Modeler 14.5 simulator, and load balancing algorithm which being tested is Least Connection, Round Robin, and Ratio. The test results shows generally Ratio is better than Least Connection and Round Robin. Ratio excels on handling End-to-End Delay and Jitter in VoIP, while Least Conncetion shows the highest throughput value in all test cases.
