In this work, the mass spectrum of the K * 2 meson family is analyzed by the modified Godfrey-Isgur model with a color screening effect approximating the kaon as a heavy-light meson system, two-body Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka allowed strong decay partial widths are calculated via the 3 P 0 model. This analysis gives us the structures and possible assignments of the observed K * 2 candidates especially K * 2 (1980). Additionally, prediction of some partial decay widths is made on the high excitations of K * 2 family. This study is crucial to establishing and searching for their higher excitations in the future.
