Online news sharing has emerged as being influential in how certain news is targeted toward and received by certain audiences. Especially for the middle‐aged and elderly populaces, online fake news' increased presence has made such sharing more complex. With much of Taiwan's middle‐aged and elderly populaces with mobile phones, this study analyzes the influencing factors—namely motivation and willingness ones—of such populaces' online news sharing practices. analyses that were approached via a survey, an adapted questionnaire, and several quantitative analyses.Motivation‐wise, weighed more were communication exchange, knowledge sharing, and social interaction factors. Willingness‐wise, the news' authenticity strength level was the most influential in such populaces' mindsets to share the highlighted online news or not. And differing education levels have differing social interaction plus knowledge sharing‐based motivations. Overall, such results reflect the unique considerations of more information literacy education‐related initiatives for Taiwan's middle‐aged and elderly populaces in online news sharing practices.
