In the current world of technology, various physical things can be used for facilitation of a human work. That is why the Internet of Things,an innovative technology and a good solution which allows the connection of the physical things with the digital world through the use of heterogeneous networks and communication technologies, is used. The Internet of Things in smart environments interacts with wireless sensor network (WSN) and mobile ad-hoc network (MANET), making it even more attractive to the users and economically successful. Interaction between wireless sensor and mobile ad-hoc networks with the Internet of Things allows the creation of a new MANET-IoT systems and IT-based networks. Such the system gives the greater mobility for a user and reduces deployment costs of the network. However, at the same time it opens new challenging issues in its networking aspects as well. In this work, the authors propose a routing solution for the Internet of Things system using a combination of MANET protocols and WSN routing principles. The presented results of solution's investigation provide an effective approach to efficient energy consumption in the global MANET-IoT system. And that is a step forward to a reliable provision of services over global Future Internet infrastructure.
Today's users can access even video broadcasting services, however, video streaming over wireless networks is especially difficult due to the factors, influencing the wireless communication process: the signal strength, the interference from other wireless links and so on. So it is very important to analyze the parameters of video streaming over 802.11 wireless networks, evaluating the influence of different frequency bands on the characteristics of video Quality of Experience: Mean Opinion Score, Peak Signal to Noise Ratio and others. The experimental investigations of video streaming over 802.11n wireless network, which operates in simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, are presented in this paper. The experimental investigations showed that there is big impact of the video multicast streaming on Quality of Experience characteristics over dual band wireless network. Due to this, the authors recommended the approach for the equipment of video streaming over 802.11n dual band wireless network, according to the analysis of experimental results and the existing wireless streaming problems in the network.
Providing Quality of Service in the Internet is a complex and multilevel problem involving heterogeneous media, protocols and technologies. The ability to differentiate traffic will allow introducing QoS oriented business relationships and pricing models, supported by the establishment of Service Level Agreements (SLAs.) Recent developments within the research community and within commercial products provide numerous technologies that may be applied as solutions. In this paper we are proposing the new adaptive (AFQ) scheduling for SLA QoS management model for differentiated services , reasoned by the virtual queue and dynamic weighted queues service coefficient φ, changing according to the evaluation of the packet state in the node, reasoned by delay target time and present network load.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
