A global finite-time observer is designed for nonlinear systems which are uniformly observable and globally Lipschitz. This result is based on a high-gain approach combined with recent advances on finite-time stability using Lyapunov function and homogeneity concepts.

AbstractIn this article, we consider the problem of xed-time observer for nonlinear systems, that is a nite-time observer whose settling time can be bounded independently of the initial condition. We consider a large class of nonlinear systems which includes two main classes: linearizable systems up to input-output injection and uniformly observable systems. Furthermore, the eect of noise and uncertainty is analyzed.
