The spread of the corona virus (COVID-19) forces face-to-face learning activities to turn into virtual meetings in various online applications. This new learning system requires students to adjust their learning habits and be different from what they receive in conventional face-to-face classes. This study designs to determine the study habits of students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Seventy three undergraduate students from the Department of English Education, Universitas Indraprasta PGRI on Academic Year 2019/2020 was involved in this study. To collect data used a questionnaire containing 30 items with 2 answer options; and analyzed descriptively by considering five indicators of study habits (Time Management, Classroom Attendance & Participation, General Study Strategies, Exam Preparation and Note-taking). The results indicated that female students had better learning habits than male students, especially in time management, were active in learning activities, the ability to find learning materials / references, and the ability to take notes in general. Meanwhile, male students are more prepared than female students. The implications of this study are also a big part of the discussion in this article.
<p>The Indonesian government formally enforces rules of study, worship, and work from home from March 16th, 2020. Minimizing and limiting meetings involving physical contact are efforts to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus. These conditions have implications for the effectiveness of the learning process in schools. The implementation of a home learning program replacing face to face-to-face schooling raised some problems from the lack of teachers’ skills to hazy educational policies. Because of that reason this study is conducted to find out students’ perception of teachers’ creativity in implementing home learning programs during the pandemic. There were 60 participants chosen by simple random sampling from grade 11th, the academic year 2019-2020, SMK Duta Mas. A questionnaire with a Likert scale was used to collect data. Then data analysis employed qualitative descriptive research to analyse indicators of teachers’ creativity proposed by Slameto. The findings of this study reveal that from 6 indicators of teachers’ creativity, 5 of them have a high percentage and the average total percentage is 79.26%. Therefore, it can be concluded that students’ perception of teachers’ creativity in SMK Duta Mas in implementing home learning during the pandemic is considered high. However, teachers need to improve their ability in creating media for learning because it is very important to improve students’ learning achievement and to motivate them to learn.</p>
Covid-19 has affected the educational system worldwide, and it makes the teaching and learning process done through online learning. This study aims to investigate EFL undergraduate students’ perceptions of utilising online learning applications during the Covid-19. There were 200 participants chosen with simple random sampling. The research instrument was an online questionnaire using a Likert scale of four items. Then data analysis employed a qualitative descriptive method to analyse two indicators: experience and comfort. The findings showed that these indicators were in the same category (positive). It indicated that mostly EFL undergraduate students had positive experiences and felt convenient in operating 4 out of 10 popular online learning applications. They preferred using WhatsApp Group, Email, Google Classroom, and YouTube channel during online learning. The recommendation is that lecturers use the most favourable online learning applications and design online engaging courses so that all undergraduate students keep feeling positive, enjoyable, and motivated to take online learning during the Covid-19 outbreak.
<p><em>The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of pre-questioning and students perception on teaching media towards students’ reading comprehension in private vocational high school Tangerang</em><em>. The students were in the </em><em>relevant grade</em><em> (</em><em>second grade</em><em>) during a period of </em><em>three</em><em> months in which this study was conducted. </em><em>The </em><em>writer</em><em> used </em><em>survey</em><em> method in this study. </em><em>Data collection were conducted by taking the test and distributing questionnaires. </em><em>The data were processed and analyzed </em><em>by using statistic descriptive, normality test, linearity test, Multicorrineality test, and hypotheses test. Statistic test uses t test and F test. The research shows that there is an effect of students pre-questioning and students perception on teaching media altogether towards reading comprehension with the regression analisis: </em><em> = </em><em>34,89 </em><em>+</em><em> </em><em>0,408 </em><em>X</em><em>1</em><em> – 0.056 X2. Whenever there is a rise in the value of pre-questioning, there will be a rise in the level of students’ reading comprehension of 0,408 and whenever there is an increase in the value of students perception on teaching media, there will be a decrease in students’ reading comprehension for 0,056.</em></p>
