Keharusan publikasi ilmiah dari Pemerintah, dapat mendorong dosen untuk meningkatkan kualitas, kuantitas penelitian dan publikasi ilmiah. Sehubungan dengan hal ini, tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengeksplor kinerja dosen di bidang penelitian dan publikasi ilmiah. Informasi ini dapat digunakan oleh stakeholderuntuk melakukan pembinaan terhadap kinerja dosen. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei dan untuk mengumpulkan data digunakan kuesioner yang memiliki validitas dan reliabilitas tinggi, dilengkapi dengan teknik observasi. Pada tahap awal, responden penelitian ini adalah 92 dosen Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta yang terdiri dari 22 Asisten ahli, 26 Lektor, 28 Lektor Kepala, dan 16 Profesor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa selama tiga tahun terakhir skor kinerja dosen dalam bidang penelitian dan publikasi ilmiah untuk semua kelompok jabatan mengalami peningkatan, tetapi ada perbedaan skor kinerja dosen dalam penelitian dan publikasi ilmiah bila dilihat dari jabatan dosen. Guru Besar menduduki ranking tertinggi, baik untuk skor kinerja dosen dalam penelitian maupun publikasi ilmiah diikuti oleh Lektor Kepala, Lektor, dan Asisten Ahli.Kata kunci: kinerja dosen, penelitian, publikasi ilmiah LECTURERS’ PERFORMANCE IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND PUBLICATIONAbstractThe necessity of scientific publication insisted by the government can encourage lecturers to improve their scientific research and publication, both in quality and quantity. In connection with this fact, this research is aimed at exploring lecturers’ performance in terms of scientific research and publication. The information gained through the result of this study can be used by the stakeholder to develop the lecturers’ performance. This study is a survey research employing high-validity-and-reliability questionnaire to collect the data, completed with the employment of observation technique. At the initial stage, the respondents of the study were 92 lecturers of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta consisting of 22 instructors, 26 assistant professors, 28 associate professors, and 16 professors. The results of the study indicate that during the last three years, there is an increase on the total scientific research performance score and publication at every level of the functional position, but there is also a difference the scientific research performance score and publication seen from these functional positions. Professors are at the highest rank of the scientific research performance score and publication, followed by associate professors, assistant professors, and instructors.Keywords: lecturers’ performance, scientific research, scientific publication
This quantitative research aims to analyze the effects of the principal's decision-making, organizational commitment and school climate on teacher performance in vocational high school. The research sample was 160 vocational school teachers in North Minahasa Regency with simple random sampling method. The data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire 25 with statements. The data analysis was performed using simple linear regression and multiple linear regression. The results showed that the principal's decision-making, organizational commitment and school climate had a positive and significant effect on the performance of vocational school teachers, both partially and simultaneously. The results of this research can be an important reference for educational administrators at vocational high school level to design school strategies and policies that can encourage increased teacher performance to achieve better school productivity.
AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan model evaluasi kinerja dosen yang akurat dan terpercaya. Model terdiri atas: instrumen, panduan penskoran, penentuan standar, aplikasi komputer, panduan penilaian, dan panduan pemanfaatan hasil penilaian. Penelitian ini merupakan multy years research selama tiga tahun. Tahun pertama (2017) dilakukan pengembangan instrumen yang akurat dan terpercaya, panduan penskoran, dan penentuan standar. Tahun kedua (2018) dilakukan uji coba penilaian kinerja dosen, produk awal aplikasi komputer, panduan pelaksanaan penilaian, dan panduan pemanfaatan hasil penilaian. Tahun ketiga (2019) dilakukan penilaian kinerja dosen, contoh pemanfaatan hasil penilaian, dan validasi aplikasi komputer. Draf instrumen divalidasi oleh 10 pakar kemudian dihitung validitas isinya dengan formula Aiken V, bukti validitas konstruk menggunakan analisis faktor eksploratori, dan estimasi reliabilitasnya dengan Cronbach Alpha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) semua butir instrumen sudah memenuhi standar validitas isi yakni 0,73, (2) hasil analisis faktor instrumen kinerja dosen dalam bidang pengajaran menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 3 komponen, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi dengan indeks reliabilitas Alpha sebesar 0,844, dan (3) berdasarkan kajian teori, FGD, dan bukti empirik, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kinerja dosen dinilai melalui empat aspek yakni kinerja dalam pengajaran, kinerja dalam penelitian, kinerja dalam PPM, dan kapasitas dosen. The model consists of: instruments, scoring manual, act of determining standard, application standard, assessment manual, and utilization manual of the assessment result. This research is a multi-year research. The first year research (2017) focuses on the development of evaluation instruments which is valid and reliable. The second year research (2018) focuses on conducting trial for lerturer performance assessment, initial computer application, the manual of assessment process, and the manual of assessment result utilization. The third year research (2019) focuses on administrating the evaluation for lecturer, the example of assessment result utilization, and validating computer application. The draft of the instrument was validated by 10 experts and analyzed using Aiken V formula. Besides, exploratory factor analysis was also conducted to prove the construct validity. The reliability was estimated by Alpha Cronbach formula. Sustainable lecturer performance mapping needed a valid evaluation model. The absence of such a model brings about lecturer performance evaluation which was neither systematic nor sustainable. The study aimed to develop a valid and reliable model of lecturer performance evaluation. This research was a development research model. The model developed in the study has two components, namely: (1) computer application containing instrument to measure the lecturer performance, scoring guide, accomplishment criteria and their syntax; and (2) the user's guide for the application. The lecturer performance instruments were analyzed using content validity and construct validity. The instrument's content validity was proven by Aiken Formula, while the construct validity by Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and the instrument's reliability was estimated by Cronbach Alpha Formula. MANOVA was used as the hypothesis test of the implementation toward the models among the faculties. The result of trials on the model showed that all items of the instrument had met the content validity standard of 0.73, the construct of the lecturer performance instrument in learning (planning, process, and assessment) was in good categories. The results showed that the lecturer performance evaluation model was valid, reliable, and comprehensive. The results also showed that the performance of the Faculty of Math and Science lecturers in learning was the highest.
The pottery craft in Indonesia faces a challenge in the postmodern era that demands them to self-adjust. This study uses qualitative approach in the case study of the Bayat Klaten's pottery industry. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation. Data analysis was done using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The findings reveal that (1) the social system at Bayat's ceramics industry was a collaborative effort among the Bayat community. This is a contributing factor in facing the challenges in postmodern era. (2) The production of the products is adjusted with the needs of the current time and creative approach. (3) There are many types of modification in the Bayat pottery products, yet they still represent old elements such as ornaments as decoration. This study is expected to develop the creative thinking skill among high school/vocational high school students through pottery making.
