253ChemInform Abstract The preparation of the ligand (V) follows a known procedure. (V) reacts with cupric acetate (VI) to give the novel Cu(II) complex (VII) (space group C2/c, Z=4), which can be reduced to its Cu(I) analogue upon addition of ascorbic acid (71% yield). The properties of the complexes are interpreted on the basis of existing theories and compared to the properties of other Cu(II) heterocycles containing the ligands bipyridine and bis(2-pyridyl)amine.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
