The objective is to analyze the importance of professional organization facing cardiopulmonary arrest in the urgency and emergency sector. This is an integrative literature review, considering the articles published by the Virtual Health Library (VHL), linked to the LILACS, BDENF and MEDLINE databases. Soon the Descriptors in Health Sciences (DeCS) were selected, and two searches were performed: the first was by crossing the descriptors "Cardiopulmonary arrest" AND "Cardiopulmonary resuscitation" AND "Nursing", and the second with "Cardiopulmonary arrest" AND "Nursing" AND "Organization and Administration". Where abstracts that did not address the theme were excluded, prioritizing the eligibility criteria and subsequently read the full articles for final analysis, with timeframe 2014-2018, in English, Portuguese and Spanish. Most studies show that nursing professionals were assessed through questionnaires and showed interest in the topic of CRP, specialization and spontaneous research by specific scientific studies on the subject. It is concluded that the study reflects the importance of focusing on care planning of professionals. With the need to optimize knowledge and that institutions should provide continuing education and training for them, as such conduct should provide positive results with regard to safety in the sector and patient survival. It is hoped that this study will instigate and show academics and health professionals the importance of good planning and organization of urgency and emergency sectors around the world.
