The Cu(p, X) Na cross section was measured at energies of 30, 150, 400, and 800 GeV.Proton Buences were determined with beam current transformer systems which were calibrated electrically in situ. The Na produced in Cu targets was assayed by comparing the intensity of its 1368-keV p ray with that of the 1332-keV y ray from Co standard sources. Results are consistent with an energy-independent cross section of 3.59 + 0.14 mb.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
