Electromagneto-optical properties of yttrium iron garnets have been investigated in a longitudinal geometry by using optical polarimetry method. It is revealed that irradiation of yttrium iron garnet films by powerful laser impulse leads to essential increase in the electromagneto-optical effect value, which can be due to the elimination of the local mechanical strain or nonuniform pressure in them.
The magneto-electric phenomena (electromagneto-optical effect) for yttrium iron garnets/lead zirconate titanate structure by applying an external variable electrical field was investigated by using optical polarimetry method. Electromagneto-optical effect for the specified structure in longitudinal and transverse geometries was carried out as a function of the variable low-frequency electric field and static magnetic field. This effect for composite structure went up essentially than electromagneto-optical effect for separate ferrimagnetic (yttrium iron garnets) phase.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
