Solid Phase Ring-Closing Metathesis: Cyclization/Cleavage Approach Towards a Seven-Membered Cycloolefin.-Phenol ether (VIII) is prepared as precursor for RCM (ring closure methathesis) tests which may be applicable to the solid-phase synthesis of cycloolefins via a cyclization/cleavage concept. Treatment of (VIII) with the Ru-catalyst shown results in successful formation of the expected N-heterocycle (IX) and opens the way to an analogous reaction on solid support. -(VAN MAARSEVEEN, J.
