Chemistry of Allyl-Type Systems. Part 2. Acylation of 3-Bromoand 2-Methyl-3-chloro-1-propene.-Under the conditions of the Kondakov-Krapivin reaction the title compounds (Ia) and (Ib) add to the acyl chlorides (II) according to Markovnikov to give the unstable adducts (III). On vacuum distillation, the latter afford the α,β-unsaturated ketones (IV) and/or the furans (V). The product distribution depends on the size of the alkyl substituents. The method described here offers a preparative access to γ-halosubstituted propenyl ketones, which are versatile starting compounds in the preparation of various classes of derivatives. -(IBRAGIMOV, I.
