Compaction of asphaltic concrete and polymer-impregnated asphaltic concrete (PAC) by vibrators is a progressive direction in increasing the efficiency of works when constructing monolithic linings of canals, reservoirs, and other hydraulic structures. Optimization of the process of vibro-compaction of PAC is necessary for creating effective compacting devices. The properties of the soil and parameters of vibration substantially affect the effectiveness of vibr0-compaction of asphalt. Compaction of the base soil to increase its stiffness is related to high expenditures of resources, therefore it is necessary to establish the optimal indices of stiffness (for example, the modulus of elasticity) for which the required effectiveness of compaction and quality of asphalt linings are obtained.The purpose of the investigations was to establish the relations characterizing the effects of stiffness of the foundation soil and parameters of vibro-compaction of PAC mixes on the density and strength of PAC linings of hydraulic structures.The adopted scheme of vibro-compaction ( Fig. 1) models the process of vibro-compaction of PAC mixes by
