Simultaneous activation of SrS with Cu and Yb has been studied over a range of activator concentrations. A band observed at 4763 A is attributed to the phosphorescence of Ybz+-ion. Observations on the EL of the phosphor are also reported.

Results of the investigation of the spectral characteristics of photo‐ and electroluminescence of BaS:Cu phosphors are presented. Some new features of the voltage and frequency dependence of EL emission are reported. The behaviour of the mixed SrSBaS: Cu phosphors is discussed.
