AIMTo study and compare the haemodynamic response to the insertion of Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA) with endotracheal intubation in adult patients receiving general anaesthesia.
MATERIAL AND METHODSSixty three patients of either sex between 18-60 years were randomized to two groups. Group I for endotracheal intubation (n=31) and group II for LMA insertion (n=32). Hemodynamic responses in the form of increased blood pressure or heart rate along with calculated values of Mean Arterial Pressure (MAP) and Rate Pressure Product (RPP) were measured in either group and compared at baseline, post induction, post intubation/insertion and at the end of 1 st , 2 nd , 3 rd and 5 th minutes.
