Objective: To describe changes in knowledge of recurrence prevention among hemorrhage peptic ulcer patients.
Methods: A single-arm experimental study design was conducted on a group of 72 patients diagnosed with hemorrhage peptic ulcer and treated at Nghe An General Hospital, from February 2022 to May 2022.
Results: Mean of basic knowledge about the disease increased significantly from 2.19 ± 1.06 before intervention to 5.14 ± 0.95 after intervention (p < 0,01); knowledge of recurrence prevention was changed significantly with p<0,01 as follows: diet from 4.74 ± 1.91 to 9.15 ± 1.27; lifestyle from 4.60 ± 1.33 to 6.83 ± 1.07; drugs use from 2.06 ± 1.40 to 6.10 ± 1.09.
Conclusion: The results showed that health education significantly changes knowledge of recurrence prevention in patients with hemorrhage peptic ulcers. These results confirm the important role of health education and this activity should be maintained in patient care.
Objective: Describe the knowledge and practice of self-care among patients with post-operative of the lower third molar at the Air Defense – Air Force Academy and related factors.
Participants and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 99 patients with post-operative of the lower third molar treated as outpatients at Dental Center 225, Air Defense – Air Force Academy from December 2021 to June 2022.
Results: The percentage of patients with post-operative of the lower third molar accounted 80.8%, and 66.7% for self-care knowledge and practice.. The study initially identified the related factors of female patients with a history of first surgery had better knowledge. The patients with high education and good social support had better self-care practice. Patients with self-care knowledge achieved self-care practice 6.5 times higher than those with low self-care knowledge.
Conclusion: The patient had good knowledge of self-care for post-operative of the lower third molar of lower jaw. The patients had the right knowledge and the practice had good treatment results. Thereby contributing to improving the patient’s attitude and behavior in the implementation of self-care for post-operative of the lower third molar.
Covid-19 has been widespread worldwide. Although Vietnam shares the border with China where was known as the originated place of the Covid-19, the country still has kept low numbers of the virus cases. Currently only 270confirmed cases with no death have been recorded in Vietnam (updated on April 27, 2020)(Ministry of Health, 2020).Among those 225 patients recovered while the rests (45cases) are treated with stable health conditions. As views from Vietnamese nurses, Vietnam has managed the crisis efficiently using a series of swift actions.
Objectives: To describe work motivation and related factors among nurses at Thai Binh Traditional Medical Hospital in 2021.
Methods: Quantitative and qualitative research were conducted on 88 nurses working at Thai Binh traditional medicine hospital. The quantitative data was collected by using the questionnaire from 88 nurses, and the qualitative data was collected by using In-depth interview guideline from 10 nurses at ten wards.
Results: Percentage of nurses who are motivated to work with factors such as commitment to the organization (72.7%), nature of work (62.5%), work benefits (54.5 %), working relationship (43.2%). Factors related to the work motivation of nurses are: age, income; work experience; direct manager; governance and operations of the organization; peer relationships; the stability and safety of workers; hospital policy.
Conclusions: The work motivation score was 4.0, 53.4% of nurses had work motivation. Age, working experience, average income, wages, and extra incomes, direct manager, policy regime, co-operative relations, safety in work were fators which associated with a work motivation statistically significant at p < 0.05.
