Chances, and challenges always are created in the fourth industrial revolution that has never faced in the past. Changing and renewing are necessary unless enterprises will come out of "playground" of the fourth industrial revolution. Currently, the navigational field, which has not been outside the "playground", has suffered from numerous challenges. Although the possible advantages of marine industry only include the seaport system and government support, the challenges and barriers are the majority. Labor, database management, digital technologies, infrastructures, investment, and customer's attractions are the existent trials of the maritime field. Improvement and renewing the educational program are compulsory. Furthermore, managing the database effectively is not easy. In Vietnam, the lack of synchronous infrastructures is also the enormous challenges of all industries in general and navigational field in particular. Moreover, the investment and customer attractions play the primary role to exist in the revolution. Some of the aspects of the maritime major in the fourth industrial revolution will be mentioned in the article. Also, supporting from Vietnam government as well as current challenges are thoroughly presented and analyzed to find the solutions for approaching the Industry 4.0. Among emerging challenges, the investment attraction, infrastructures, labor, database management, modern digital technology, and customer attraction may be considered as critical information for Vietnamese economy. Importantly, the challenges are analyzed to reveal that if these challenges can be transformed into the motivations, gaining achievements in 4.0 industrial revolution is not difficulty. Keywords-critical information; 4.0 industrial revolution; navigational field; the maritime industry.
Vietnam is a country with strengths in agricultural production, rich and valuable agricultural products. Vietnam is often described as a giant boom with two big granaries at both ends, the Red River Delta and the Mekong Delta. Besides, the appropriate weather and climate conditions and fertile soil have created an ideal environment for rice production, thereby making rice a strong export item for Vietnam. In order to boost export rice output, the role of the transport and logistics system is very important. If the transport system is equipped and linked together, it will create added value for the components of the system, while reducing transport costs, warehousing costs, distribution, and circulation, ... increase farmers' income, profits for businesses, create great export value for the country. One of the most important tasks to achieve this goal is to optimize Vietnam's rice export system. This issue is always urgent, not only for the executive agency, macro-management of the State but also for organizations, businesses, ... involved in the production and export of rice. This paper focuses on analyzing and assessing the current situation of Vietnam's export rice transport system and forecasting the future in each period. From there, select the basic parameters (or criteria) to build the optimal export rice transport system. The author has built a general and specific model for 02 transshipment scenarios including scenario 1 is Saigon port, scenario 2 is Saigon port and Can Tho port. The core of the paper is a detailed calculation with 05 options for each scenario, based on the selected basic parameters, with the LINGO 13.0 FOR WINDOWS software. From there, identify and select the most optimal plan for Vietnam's export rice transport system in general and the Mekong Delta in particular.
The fact that the global economy has been thriving and gaining significant accomplishments also brings its adverse effects to the environment, which, specifically speaking, is climate change. This phenomenon has become increasingly pressing. A research carried out by World Bank has revealed that Logistics constitutes 5.5% of worldwide emissions. As a result, the Theory of sustainable development has urgently required entrepreneurs to modify the traditional model of Logistics, which consumes more energy, reduces noise, disposals, and emissions.Consequently, the Theory of Green Logistics was created to improve the situation. Technological advances play an essential role in enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and reducing the expenses for the logistics companies. Besides that, a green logistics operation that is operated will help logistics and transport services generally become more friendly to the environment. Since Vietnamese import and export market is developing, domestic trade is widening, and Logistics demand is rising, Green Logistics scheme happens to be more beneficial than tax cuts while it is also economical and increasingly improving the competitions. Vietnamese Logistics companies, however, are organized in small and medium-scales, which make the Green logistics scheme new and challenging to be constructed and applied. This paper aims to analyze the effect of Green Logistics on the sustainable development of the economy that several global Logistics enterprises have been operating, examining and evaluating into Vietnamese logistics situations in the context of integrating into the international marketplace. Also, the authors recommend several solutions to expand Green Logistics in Vietnam under global integration.
Seaport services are an important and decisive focal point in improving the logistics process's efficiency. Several prerequisites such as productivity and customer satisfaction are considered to be mandatory measures of port performance. Therefore, the determination of the characteristics and the evaluation of the effects of those important factors on the efficient operation of the port has always attracted much attention from scholars. This work aims to identify and evaluate the factors of port characteristics affecting container port operation efficiency. As a result, the port operation is more efficient. The competitiveness is enhanced in the context of fierce competition in seaport business in general and container ports and container terminals in particular. With qualitative methods combined with quantitative, using a 5-point width scale, analysis according to the linear structure model (SEM) with 530 samples. The research results show that 6 factors belong to the characteristics of container ports: infrastructure, location, inland connectivity, dynamism, logistics services, attractiveness impact the performance of container port operation. As meaningful, the study can bring benefits to port and container terminal businesses to build the right policies and decisions in competitiveness enhancement and help policymakers and port planning have an overview when implementing the plan.
Purpose of the study: With the goal of setting up a superior logistics center, it is guaranteed to minimize transportation costs for businesses in the region in order to form reasonable transportation routes, within and outside the guaranteed area. Improve the output of goods through and reduce social costs, in accordance with the planning of the transportation system, improve socio-economic efficiency in goods circulation. Methodology:This study uses statistical methods -data analysis, survey analysis, trend approach to forecast such as goods demand through ports, assess the nature of the problem and find specific solutions to devise optimal planning solutions.Main Findings: Transport infrastructure directly affects logistics performance, particularly on time, cost, reliability, and safety of this service, thereby affecting the growth rate of the economy in general and the business efficiency of enterprises in particular. Therefore, in order to meet the fast development of Cai Mep-Thi Vai logistics and port system, the transport infrastructure must be concerned, planned, and deployed in a synchronized and proper manner. Applications of this study:The Cai Mep-Thi Vai port area being invested and built and developed will be of utmost importance in Vietnam, with access to international maritime routes, connecting with existing wharves to form a continuous port system serving the dynamic economic development centers of the southern and international regions.Novelty/Originality of this study: The problems of port logistics and transport infrastructure to serve logistics. Provide some general theoretical issues about transportation for port logistics services. Also basing on foreign experiment and regional lessons to evaluate the existence of transport infrastructure for logistics services in Cai Mep-Thi Vai port area; point out the shortcomings and inadequacies of transport infrastructure for logistics.
