: Gout arthritis is one type of inflammation in the joints caused by the deposition ofurate monosodium crystals in body tissues. To prevent or reduce uric acid levels increase,thats is by using natural plants like bay leaves. Bay leaves contains flavonoids which canreduce uric acid levels. The Purpose of this study to know the effect of giving bay leavesdecoctions to decrease uric acid levels in patients with gout arthritis. Method of this study useexperimental research design, with a pre-experimental approach. Sample with samplingtechniques using total sampling with a total sample of 16 respondents. The result of the studyusing the dependent t test with level if signficance 95%, available significant value is 0,000smaller than significant value 0,05 (0,000 < 0,05). The Conclusion, of this study indicateseffect of giving bay leaves decoctions to decrease uric acid levels in patients with goutarthritis in the working area of Ranotana Weru community health service center.Keywords : Decoction Bay Leaves, Gout ArthritisAbstrak : Gout artritis merupakan salah satu jenis radang sendi yang disebabkan olehpengendapan kristal monosodium urat dalam jaringan tubuh. Untuk mencegah ataumenurunkan kadar urat meningkat yaitu dengan memanfaatkan tumbuhan alami berupa daunsalam. Daun salam mengandung flavonoid yang mampu menurunkan kadar asam urat.Tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian rebusan daun salam terhadap penurunankadar asam urat pada penderita gout artritis. Metode menggunakan desain penelitianeksperimen, dengan pendekatan pre eksperimen. Sampel dengan teknik pengambilan sampelmenggunakan metode total sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 16 responden. Hasildengan menggunakan uji t dependen dengan tingkat kemaknaan 95%, didapatkan nilai ρ–value 0,000 lebih kecil dari nilai signifikan 0,05 (0,00 < 0,05). Kesimpulan, hasil penelitianini menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh pemberian rebusan daun salam terhadap penurunan kadarasam urat pada penderita gout artritis di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Ranotana Weru Manado.Kata kunci : Rebusan Daun Salam, Gout Artritis
