A sustainable university must educate its academic collaborators and its interest groups, focusing on the key dimensions, such as economic growth, respect for the environment and carrying out energy saving measures, and efficiency and reuse of resources. The aim of this research is to show the tendencies of postgraduate courses in the training of human talent for “Sustainable Development” based on grounded theory. The methodology is approached from the qualitative naturalistic perspective, where the hermeneutic analysis procedure is structured in five phases with data from nine countries obtained from 20 interviews conducted in the year 2021. For this, a dialogical intervention has been used through the complementary experiences of rectors, deans and specialists with doctoral degrees who are immersed in postgraduate programmes in Latin American and Spanish universities, safeguarding the identity under ethical criteria. The main findings show that this human capital that forms part of the universities through their postgraduate programmes is currently considering redesigning their educational programmes to contribute to sustainable development, not only academically but also through their educational model. The main evidence shows that today more than ever there is a need for change, a need for a new human resource that responds and aims for a triple balance: environmental, economic and social.
Introduction: In this COVID-19 pandemic, protective measures against the disease and government-imposed policies should be known. However, the media also report on deaths and health service shortages, but their impact on the mental health of the population is ignored. Objective: To determine whether fear of COVID-19 infection acts as a mediator between exposure to news about the pandemic and mental health in the Peruvian population.Method: Explanatory study with observable variables in which 541 persons selected by non-probabilistic sampling participated. They responded to a sociodemographic file and the following scales: Mental Health Inventory-5 (MHI-5) and Fear of COVID-19 Scale. Data were processed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25 and Macro PROCESS for SPSS programs; linear regression and bootstrapping of 10 000 simulations were used. Results: The number of hours watching and/or listening to covid-19 information is a good predictor of the COVID-19 fear mediator variable (β= ,75; t = 3.77, p<.001**). In turn, this has a predictor effect on mental health (β= -,24; t = -13.57, p<.001**). However, the number of hours of exposure to COVID-19 information had no direct positive effect on mental health (β= -.10; t = -1.184, p=.23).Conclusion: Fear of COVID-19 has a total mediating effect between exposure to pandemic news and mental health in the Peruvian population.
The study establishes the psychometric evidences of the Entrepreneurial Behavior Scale (EBS) in a sample of university students (N = 865) where 526 (60.8%) were women and 339 (39.2%) were men. Evidences of Aiken's content validity (p<.01 or p<.05) were found, indicating that the items are clear, coherent and relevant; as well as of internal structure, verifying the three-dimensional model, with adequate fit indices (RMR = .05, AGFI = .94, NFI = .92, RFI = .91, PNFI = .84). Finally, reliability by internal consistency was found with the Omega coefficient (ω > .70). It is concluded that the Entrepreneurial Behavior Scale (EBS) presents adequate evidences of validity and reliability. Gender violence is a problem that has been increasing in recent years as a consequence of intolerance and cultural diversity in personal and social relationships. The aim of this study was to describe the scientific evidence on gender violence between intimate partners. The methodology used was the narrative review and analysis of articles published between 2019 and 2022 in the Scopus, EBSCO and Jane's databases, obtaining a total of 21 articles. The findings show that the existence of gender violence is a social problem that causes frustrations transferred to the partner, most of whom are women who report the various types of violence: physical, economic, sexual, emotional and psychological abuse. The main characteristics of violence are related to male dominance in the relationship, social isolation and subjugation of power due to economic, educational and cultural deficiencies, among others. It is concluded that exposure to violence requires timely psychological interventions that can mitigate the impact on mental health, which is why a comprehensive policy response is needed to benefit vulnerable populations.
