Resumo: Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar as características das publicações sobre o tema impactos sociais na base de dados Web of Science, no período de 2005 a 2014, e identificar quais tópicos estão sendo mais pesquisados e quais os mais relevantes. O estudo revelou que cresce o volume de publicações nos anos mais recentes destacando-se as áreas de Engenharia e Ciências Ecológicas e Ambientais, sugerindo que a temática relaciona-se com políticas, planos, projetos e programas de desenvolvimento, evidenciada na literatura referente a impactos ambientais. A análise dos "tópicos quentes" indicou que as áreas de Negócios e Economia e Administração Pública estão dentre as que mais publicam acerca da temática, representando um tema emergente junto a área da Administração.Palavras-chave Impacto Social. Abstract:This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of publications on the subject of social impact in the Web of Science database in the period of 2005 to 2014, and identify which topics studied in this subject are most researched and which are most relevant. The study showed that there was an increase in scientific production, particularly in the areas of Engineering and Environmental Sciences Ecology, suggesting that the theme is related with policies, plans, projects and programs of development, evidenced in the literature referring to environmental impacts. The analysis of the frontier topics indicated that the areas of Business Economy and Public Administration are among those that most publish about social impacts, representing an emerging issue in the Administration field.
