Resumo O presente trabalho teve como objetivo a caracterização dos alunos do quarto e quinto anos do curso de medicina veterinária da Universidade de São Paulo, quanto a fatores sociais, econômicos, crenças e traumas, e suas relações com o processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Por meio do método Delphi, 105 alunos expressaram seus sentimentos frente a 42 afirmativas geradas por especialistas. O estudo revelou que os discentes necessitam de inclusão tecnológica no ensino, porém, aproximadamente 90,4% acreditam que o uso de animais em aula é importante para a formação do médico veterinário. Em relação às expectativas futuras de trabalho e de salário, elas aparecem como principal causa de estresse e frustração, fatores que interferem negativamente no aprendizado. Ainda, irritação, cansaço e desinteresse podem estar diretamente relacionados à forma de ensino adotada pelos docentes. Por sua vez, os professores aparecem como um exemplo a ser seguido e são primordiais no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Abstract The present work aimed to characterize the students of the fourth and fifth year students of the veterinary medicine course at the University of São Paulo regarding social, economic factors, beliefs and traumas, and their relationship with the teaching and learning process. Through the Delphi method, 105 students expressed their feelings regarding 42 statements generated by specialists. The study revealed that students need technological inclusion in teaching. However, approximately 90.4% believe that the use of animals in class is important for the training of the veterinary doctor. In relation to future work and salary expectations, they appear as the main cause of stress and frustration, factors that negatively interfere with learning. Still, irritation, tiredness and lack of interest can be directly related to the way teachers teach. In turn, teachers appear as an example to be followed and are primordial in the teaching-learning process.
