Subject. The article discusses the issues concerning the emergence of priority development areas in international tourism. Objectives. I point out various types of priority development areas, evaluate their capabilities for tourism development. Methods. The study is based on methods of analysis, synthesis, scientific abstraction, and SWOT analysis. Results. The article describes in comparison of various types of priority development areas, spotlights their capabilities for tourism development. I propose a new type of priority development areas, such as a local recreation and health complex, and provide its description. Currently, inbound tourism grows more important, which almost surpasses economic expectations. As the confrontation between Russia and Western countries perseveres, inbound tourism serves as a crucial element of public diplomacy, or the so called soft power of Russia. Inbound tourism may definitely have a positive effect on the public sentiment in the Western countries and help mend international relations. Conclusions and Relevance. It is still relevant and effective to create priority development areas, which can be used for the production and servicing sectors of the economy. The creation of priority development areas can give an additional impetus to tourism development. It is noteworthy that various types of priority development areas have their own strengths and weaknesses. It is important to maintain the optimization of inbound tourist flows, their more even dispersion across the area, and prevent excessive tourism in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as the Black Sea resorts.
Subject. The article considers sanctions as a tool for achieving political goals. Objectives. The aim is to identify the impact of sanctions on certain sectors of the economy, specifically, on the hospitality and tourism industry. Methods. The study draws on methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization, induction, and deduction. Results. The paper states that the delimitation of spheres of influence of rival factions will facilitate the lifting of sanctions. There will be a revaluation of values in the sectoral structure of the economy. Conclusions. During the sanction period, the importance of domestic tourism will increase. One of important tasks of the bodies of legislative power is to ensure the regulatory and legal support to this sector.
Subject. This article deals with the issues related to international tourism and Russian inbound tourism. Objectives. The article aims to identify the possibilities of using logistics techniques for analyzing the tourism market. Methods. For the study, I used techniques used in logistics, namely, Pareto principle, break-even analysis, supplier rating assessment, and the economic order quantity model. The logistics techniques are adapted for the analysis of inbound tourism. Conclusions. Logistics techniques help assess the representativeness of tourist flows from different countries, focus on the more significant ones among them, and determine the attractiveness of provincial tourist centers and the optimal tourist flow to the resort. Adapting logistics techniques for the analysis of tourism markets can contribute to the optimization of Russian inbound tourism.
Subject. This article discusses the development of tourism in Russia. Objectives. The article aims to identify promising types of tourism and characterize the tourist resources of the regions of Russia. Methods. For the study, we used analysis and synthesis, scientific abstraction, induction and deduction. Results. The article finds that various regions of Russia have the potential for the development of primarily ecological, historical, cultural, and on-farm types of tourism. Conclusions. The full use of tourist resources of the regions of Russia, as well as the development of promising types of tourism will help correct the tourist traffic within the borders of the country.
Subject. This article discusses the investment climate in Russia. Objectives. The article aims to analyze the investment potential of domestic and inbound tourism and the prospects for Russian travel companies' going public. Methods. For the study, I used analysis and synthesis, scientific abstraction, and the economic and geographical aspect. Results. The study shows that domestic and inbound tourism should become a factor in the economic growth of the Russian Federation. The development of tourism in Russia is constrained by a number of circumstances, one of which is the insufficient volume of direct investment. Conclusions. To activate domestic and inbound tourism, it is advisable to create a large partially government-owned public joint-stock company. In this case, the contribution of the tourism industry to economic growth of Russia will become significant.
