In der vorliegenden Studie mit 54 Versuchspersonen bei einer durchschnittlichen Dauer von etwa 24 Tagen wurde der Effekt eines standardisierten Pra È parates im Vergleich zu Placebo sowie in Kombination mit einem Ballaststoffpra È parat gemessen. Die durchschnittliche Cholesterinsenkung bei allen Versuchspersonen mit Verum betrug 16,8 % gegenu È ber 10,0 % bei allen Patienten mit Placebo. Dieser Unterschied war statistisch signifikant. Tendenziell konnte mit gleichzeitiger Gabe von Ballaststoffen ein noch sta È rkerer cholesterinsenkender Effekt gefunden werden. Die LDL-Senkungen sind den Gesamtcholesterinsenkungen vergleichbar. Der LDL/HDL-Quotient konnte in den Verum-und Ballaststoffgruppen gesenkt werden, wa È hrend er in der Placebo-Gruppe leicht anstieg. In this study with 54 test patients at an average duration of about 24 days the effect of a standardized preparation was measured in comparison with placebo as well as in combination with a preparation of fibre. The average lowering of cholesterol in all test patients with verum was 16.8 % compared to 10.0 % in all patients with placebo. This difference was statistically significant. An even stronger cholesterol lowering effect could be found tendentious with a simultaneous dose of fibre. The lowering of LDL is similar to that of total cholesterol. The LDL/HDL-quotient could be lowered in the verum and fibre groups while it rose slightly in the placebo group. Patients with flatulence obtained under verum a significant improvement on their troubles while the troubles remained unchanged under placebo. Under verum, no more dropouts or side effects than under placebo were found.
