There has been increasing interest among researchers to understand the negative effects of technology, in the last two decades. Technostress or stress induced due to technology is extensively reported in the literature, among working professionals. Even though there has been an increased proliferation of digital devices in academia, there is a dearth of studies examining the prevalence of technostress and its impact among students. This study examines the prevalence of technostress among the younger population, in the age group of 18–28 years. Using a sample of 673 Indian private university students, this study cross-validated the technostress instrument. Increased use of technology in higher education has compelled students to complete all their academic work, including assessments, using technology. Technology-enhanced learning applications such as learning management systems, MOOCs and digital exam devices require students to develop ICT skills. The study also investigates the impact of technostress on the academic productivity of students. Findings reveal that the technostress instrument is valid to be used in the academic context, with minor modifications, and students experienced moderate levels of technostress. It was also found that technostress had a negative impact on the academic productivity of students.
Opinion mining and Sentiment analysis have become a vital part in today's era. Both industries and consumers switch to online resources for feedback on products and amenities. Post enormous development of web technology, reviews existing on web are in surplus quantity. Thus, making decision problem harder. It would be more beneficiary to an individual or organization if these opinions serve precise sentiment of the whole review/document. This paper implements naïve Bayes algorithm to classify the sentence in positive, negative and neutral precisely. So, we implemented the proposed technique and we evaluated its performance, and suggested directions of improvement.
Prion diseases are a group of fatal neurodegenerative diseases caused by the transformation of an endogenous protein, PrP (prion-related protein), into an abnormal conformation, the most common of which in humans is Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. We report the case of a 40 year old lady who presented with rapidly progressive dementia with pyramidal, extra-pyramidal, cerebellar symptoms, myoclonus and akinetic mutism. Her EEG showed typical periodic sharp wave complexes and MRI Brain revealed DWI>FLAIR intensity in bilateral caudate nuclei, putamen & bilateral subcortical frontal lobes. The clinico-radiological correlation was consistent with the diagnosis of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
